The collection of facts and statistics that you are about to read is highly controversial.  A lot of people are going to be greatly upset by it.  Why?  Because they don’t like to be confronted with the truth about America.  Most people tend to believe that we can “fix this country” by getting the right politicians into power or by implementing certain economic or social reforms.  But the reality of the matter is that our problems go far deeper than that.  A moral collapse is eating away at the foundations of our society like cancer.  If it continues to go unchecked, it will inevitably destroy America.  Unfortunately, fixing moral decay is far more difficult than switching out political parties, because it is in the hearts of hundreds of millions of individual Americans.  And most people don’t want to hear anything about a “moral collapse”, because most people like to think that the United States is setting a “good example” for the rest of the planet.  But as you will see below, that is not the case at all.

And if we are honest with ourselves, we see the evidence of this moral collapse all around us every day.  Just consider a few of the news stories that we have seen recently…

What would cause a high school kid to take two kitchen knives and go on a stabbing rampage through his school?

What would cause a topless woman to ransack a McDonald’s in St. Petersburg, Florida?

What would cause two 18-year-old boys to beat a 30-year-old mentally-disabled man to death with a baseball bat just so they could get his XBox?

What would cause a new father to put his 6-week-old daughter in a freezer to keep her from crying?

A lot of people regard those kinds of stories as “isolated incidents”, but as you will see below, they are actually representative of a much larger trend.  As a society, we are decaying from the inside out, and we need to start facing the truth if we are ever going to get this turned around.  The following are 100 facts about the moral collapse of America that are almost too crazy to believe…

#50 There are 30 Planned Parenthood executives that make more than $200,000 a year.  A few of them actually make more than $300,000 a year.

#51 Planned Parenthood receives hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government every single year.

#55 During 2012, more than 85,000 military veterans were formally treated for sexual abuse that they suffered while serving in the U.S. military.

#56 The number of active members of the U.S. military that kill themselves each year now exceeds the number that are dying on the battlefield.

#57 According to one absolutely shocking study, 22 military veterans kill themselves in the United States every single day.

#58 America has the highest incarceration rate and the largest total prison population in the entire world by a wide margin.

#59 In America today, there are 60 million people that abuse alcohol and there are 22 million people that use illegal drugs.

#63 Americans spend more than 280 billion dollars on prescription drugs each year.

#64 According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, doctors in the United States write more than 250 million prescriptions for antidepressants each year.

#65 Right now, there are 70 million Americans that are on mind-altering drugs of one form or another.

#66 Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants than children in Europe are.

#67 In the United States today, prescription painkillers kill more Americans than heroin and cocaine combined.

#68 America has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.

#69 According to the federal government, the number of heroin addicts in the United States has more than doubled since 2002.

#70 The number of heroin-related overdose deaths has risen 84 percent just since 2010.

#71 It is hard to believe, but 56 percent of all Americans now have “subprime credit”.

#72 Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese.  Mexico is #2.

#73 Only one state in the entire country has an obesity rate of under 20 percent.  11 states have an obesity rate of over 30 percent.

#74 Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese, but it is being projected that 42 percent of all Americans could be obese by the year 2030.

#75 Corruption is rampant throughout our society.  In fact, America leads the world in money given to fake charities.

#76 Without strong families, our young people are constantly in search of an identity.  According to the FBI, there are now more than 1.4 million gang members involved in the 33,000 active criminal gangs in the United States.

#77 In 2012, the latest full year that we have numbers for, the rate of violent crime in the United States increased by 15 percent.

#78 The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.

#79 One study discovered that 88 percent of all Americans from age 8 to age 18 play video games, and that approximately four times as many boys are addicted to video games as girls are.

#80 Average SAT scores have been falling for years, and the level of education that our kids are receiving in most of our public schools is a total joke.

#81 At this point, 15-year-olds that attend U.S. public schools do not even rank in the top half of all industrialized nations when it comes to math or science literacy.

#82 We live a time when most employers no longer care about their employees.  As I wrote about the other day, a company that Warren Buffett has a controlling interest in has decided to shut down a factory in Kentucky and move it to Honduras just so that he can make a little bit more money.   As a result, 600 workers are going to lose their jobs.

#83 There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.

#84 According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, 60 percent of all Americans believe that “humans and other living things have evolved over time”, while only 33 percent of respondents rejected this statement.

#85 Nearly one-fifth of all U.S. adults have no religious affiliation whatsoever.  Back in 1972, only 7 percent of all U.S. adults had no religious affiliation.

#86 The number of Americans with no religious affiliation has grown by 25 percent over the past five years.

#87 The younger you are, the more likely you are not to be affiliated with a religion.  9 percent of all U.S. adults that are 65 or older have no religious affiliation, but a whopping 32 percent of all U.S. adults under the age of 30 have no religious affiliation.

#88 88 percent of those that are religiously unaffiliated “are not looking for religion”.

#89 73 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support gay marriage and 72 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support legalized abortion.

#90 The religiously unaffiliated now make up 24 percent of all registered voters “who are Democrats or lean Democratic”.

#91 For the first time ever, Protestants do not make up a majority of the U.S. population.  In 2007, Protestants made up 53 percent of the U.S. population, but now they only make up 48 percent of the U.S. population. Way back in 1972, Protestants made up 62 percent of the U.S. population.

#92 29 percent of all U.S. adults “seldom or never attend religious services”.

#93 51 percent of all U.S. adults believe that churches and other religious organizations “are too concerned with money and power”.

#94 66 percent of all U.S. adults believe that religion is “losing its influence on American life”.

#95 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Americans with “no religion” more than doubled between 1990 and 2008.

#96 According to the American Religious Identification Survey, only 76 percent of all Americans identified themselves as “Christian” of one type or another in 2008.  Back in 1990, 86 percent of all Americans identified themselves as “Christian” of one type or another.

#97 A study conducted by the Barna Group discovered that nearly 60 percent of all Christians from 15 years of age to 29 years of age are no longer actively involved in any church.

#98 It is being projected that the percentage of Americans attending church in 2050 will be about half of what it is today.

#99 One survey conducted a while back found that 52 percent of all American Christians believe that “at least some non-Christian faiths can lead to eternal life”.

#100 According to LifeWay Research, 46 percent of all Americans never even think about whether they will go to heaven or not.

America is the most dangerous country for Americans.

    • Jane

And the rest of the world!!

  • K

You can almost feel the evil, slowly covering this Country like a blanket. 41 was the saddest of all. This Country will pay a great price, for embracing evil. I think it has already begun.

    • Coffeedrinker

One possible explanation for why there are fewer abortions by Catholics than Protestants is that Catholics are taught that each Catholic will reach heaven via a final judgment by God. God will review each Catholic’s works on earth and then decide entry to Heaven. The Catholic denomination does not allow abortion.
Protestants emphasis being saved or (securing in advance–while still alive on earth–a place in Heaven). Protestants also believe that their works on earth will be judged but do not emphasize (as much as the Catholics) the Christian way to live life on earth. Protestants are also not allowed have abortions.

      • Kim

I would counter that and say it’s a matter of demographics. Look into abortion statistics from so called Catholic nations and the percentage of abortions performed are predominant to Catholic doctors on Catholic patients. I don’t think Christian values ever come into play for the average Catholic unless there is some immediate benefit. You should watch the Godfather. It’s the most accurate cinematic depiction of what Catholicim is really like, from the top down.

And truly, if Catholic doctrine played a serious role in the lives of Catholics, shouldn’t that aforementioned abortion statistic be 0%?

        • Coffeedrinker

I was a Catholic most of my life and only recently converted to a born again Christian (Protestant).
Even among the poorest Catholics (say for example, your average Catholic in Mexico) they all know that abortion is forbidden. All that the poor Catholics in Mexico have is their Catholic faith; they are dirt poor. They would no throw away their Catholic faith easily.
As for the Godfather structure of Catholic hierarchy, yes it does exist. The Pope playing the role of the Godfather and the Jesuit priest being enforcers of the holy father–corruption in the Catholic church is through and through.

          • Kim

Knowing is not enough. I think the vast majority of those who have abortions intuitively know it’s wrong.

And even if it is “forbidden” what meaning does that even have if the clergy cannot display a shred of a moral example for these poor helpless people to follow? The clergy of the Catholic institution has had their dirty laundry exposed for the entire world to see. Forbidden. It means nothing unless you have true respect for yourself and true love for God. Many who have abortions are already on a path to moral ruin if they’ve conceived out of wedlock.

      • Michael

The catholic church is the harlot sitting on the beast in Revelation 17, and the political system of rome is the beast under the harlot, and the beast with seven heads in Revelation thirteen is the political system of rome and the beast with two lamb like horns with the mouth of the dragon is the united states.

        • otter1111

This is nonsense. So the Catholic Church, which is pro life and pro traditional marriage, is the harlot?
          Really?

          • Michael

They commit blasphemy by saying they can forgive sins, blasphemy because the pope says he is the representative of Jesus while he is in Heaven, when the Bible clearly says the Holy Ghost is Jesus representative, they worship idols paganism, they changed the Ten Commandments to fit there doctrine they got rid of the second commandment about idols and split the tenth commandment into to thou shall not covet them thou shalt not covet they neighbors goods, the pope just came out and said if you live a good life you will make it to Heaven, he must of skipped John chapter 3, the testimony from former nuns about being raped by priest and then the head nun killing the babies, so yes they are the harlot church read Revelation 13 and 17-18 and you will know the truth.

          • Martha and Mary

Good points Otter1111. I would add, as to the numbering of the Ten Commandments, there were no chapter and verse distinctions in the Torah. They were added later for ease of looking up sections. The Catholic church has not taken away and of those teachings… the 10 Commandments are all there, does the numbering matter?? Why not split them into 2 or 11 or 15? If you are concerned about idols look up Exodus 25:18-20 Numbers 21:8-9 and 1 Kings 6:23-28. God approves and commands religious carvings in those verses. God is telling us not to worship idols and the Catholic church would 100% agree. Idols todays may not be statues of Baal, but they still exist…. like worshipping money, cars, and celebrities. So be careful you don’t fall into that trap.

          • Michael

The chapter you are referring to in Exodus is about building the Ark of the Covenant, very wrong there. As far as number 21:8-9 the Hebrews started worshipping the fiery serpent and got into a lot of trouble for that, the Israelites were only supposed to look onto the fiery serpent and not worship it as they did, so there wounds would be healed. in 1 Kings 6:23-28 they are talking about what is in the temple, do some research before you yahoo something and post it, all these the Bible gave a reason to do, as far as the second commandment the catholic church took it out of there Bible for a reason because they would have to take a lot of there idol worship away,

            Exodus 20:4

            King James Version (KJV)

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

The catholic church came from pagan rome, decedents of Babylon.

          • Martha and Mary

My point in those 3 quotes still stands…. the ark had angels on it and it was that way because God ordered it that way. The serpent itself wasn’t bad, just their reaction to it. Same with the temple verses. So did God order them to sin? No. He did order them to not worship the image (which we Catholics also prohibit). The image itself is neither good nor bad, it matters what you do with it. Just like all material things of this world, they are in themselves neutral it matters what we do with them. That picture of your parents on your wall could become an idol, or not, depending on your attitude and beliefs about it. Same with that money in your wallet or that car in your driveway. God is concerned with us not worshiping idols, and yes when the Israelites failed this test (the serpent, the golden calf…) they were justly punished. It seems like we really believe the same thing (idol worship is sinful) and are thus on the same page there :)

          • Michael

What the catholics do is wrong Jesus did not have long hair, the depict him as having long hair,

            Exodus 20:4

            King James Version (KJV)

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

there is no way to work around these scriptures all there statues of Mary and the apostles are false, this is specific there is no way around these spoken words, that is why the catholics omitted this verse and split the tenth commandment, I know you do not like to number them, but they are in order, and they split the tenth commandment, a lot of catholic worship goes al the way back to Nimrod, they are the beast in Revelation 13 the political beast and the harlot riding the beast in Revelation 17 is the church, a false church, the pope bows down and pray/worship idols, the decree is to kill everyone that does not believe in there mistranslation of the Bible, they killed more people in there run concentration camp then the Germans did in world war 2, as a matter of fact one of the priest in the camp set the record of killing 1200 people in one night, they were killing people in Kosovo and Serbia, to give there land to Croatia in the late 90s the catholic church killed around 50000 people in Kosovo and Serbia, during the inquisitions there is estimates of around 100 million people killed by the catholic church, each pope finding a more sick way of killing people, the name of the catholic run concentration camp was, Jasenovac, sick place were priest cut off people wars and made necklaces and gouged out peoples eyes to make buckets of eye balls, the catholic church loves murder, there is a lot of implications into Kennedy’s death from the catholic church he was about to expose, they have the number one pagan worship symbol in there square and obelisk.

          • Martha and Mary

buckets of eyeballs?? Killing 1,200 people in one night? Really?? To make sure an outlandish claim without siting proof of your sources makes it pretty tough to believe that. And did Jesus have long hair? How can you prove He didn’t? It was a pretty typical thing for a man to have long hair in that culture. And maybe he had long hair for part of his life and not the rest? Does the length of His hair matter in the least compared to His ministry and mission? Would He be pleased to know His followers are disputing his hair?

          • Michael

Pretty typical for men to have long hair, not if your a Jew it is not, I am going to ask you one thing do you read the Bible, clearly the Bible says for men not to have long hair, and Jesus would not go against his own word,

            1 Corinthians 11:14-15 (KJV)
14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

As far as the concentration camp look it up, the Catholics did nothing to stop the slaughter they even participated in the slaughter, read some of your catholic mottos for a jesuit priest they are to cut the wombs and pull the babies out of the woman, bash the babies skulls against the walls, that is pretty sick, if you do not believe me when I get he I will copy and paste it for you, my point about the long hair is the catholic church is clueless about scripture, the catholic church has the main pagan worship in there square an obelisk the male genitalia with the female generalist around it, an obelisk

          • Pax Humana

How do YOU know that He did not have long hair, Michael? Did not Samson, who also came from the same area as where YAHASHUA HA’MASHIACH came from, ALSO have long hair AND that YAHWEH EL ELOHIM Himself had protected him as long as he did not put a razor to his body or deviate from the laws of the Nazarite? You are just as evil as the Roman Catholics that you criticize, sir! You BOTH are leading people to Sheol (hell) and so is anyone that follows your brands of wickedness, PERIOD!

          • Michael

Kind of funny I use scripture to back up what I say you use what you think it says to back up what you say, I left the verses in one of my last comments were it talks about long hair, believe what you will, but your beliefs will not get you into heaven only obeying The Word of God will get you in Heaven, by judging me and telling me were I am going are you the judge, because Jesus is my judge not know mortal man, what you are saying is taking away the judgement that Jesus has for man and doing it yourself, read the history from when Jesus was alive, also do not take just one verse and run with it every verse has a corresponding verse, the pictures with Jesus having long hair all came about in the 1400-1500s hair means not to be bald, follow the Bible and not what you think,

            1 Corinthians 11:14-15

            King James Version (KJV)

14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

A man not to be bald and not have long hair like a woman.

          • Jo Brown

It’s not nonsense. Check out “amazing facts [dot] org” and “final events [dot] com” for extensive information on this.

        • dsp

you are all missing the point……”all” have fallen and come short of he glory of god……we all need to repent for the sins we have in our life…..judgement is coming to all mankind….we all need to be prepared by accepting the LORD as our savior and repenting of our sins…..the alternative in destruction for our souls…..the enemy wants us to quibble and fight over who did what and when…..and take our eyes off the LORD……repent…..and be saved….all else is futile….

      • George Reichel

Catholic church will be an instrument of the NWO in ushering in the New Age religion.

        • Pax Humana

The Adventists and the like will also usher it in, even the ones that are legalistic and adhere to what THEY claim are the “true” teachings of the Holy Scriptures. They are BOTH forms of rat poison to TRUE Christianity, and ditto for Nasaritism.

      • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

And Catholics make up a smaller percentage of the population.

        Michael

      • otter1111

Catholic teaching is not that you can work you way to heaven-that is a common misconception and seems to be implied in your post.

        For Catholics,

Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the
soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, “He who endures to the end
will be saved” (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31–46). One who dies in the state of
friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who
dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of
mortal sin) will go to hell.

      • Tom21962

I am a protestant. And I agree with what you just said. That has been something I have argued with fellow protestants for years. It is easy to sin when your actions dont account for anything. IE “Once saved always saved”. So, some will get offended and smart off, but I say “You will give account for everyword you utter”. Paraphased:

    • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

I would agree with that. At times the evil is almost tangible.

In other words, we’ve been transformed into a liberal utopia.

How about this example Michael. A Dupont heir ADMITTED to raping his 3 year old daughter and molesting his 19 month old son, and was given PROBATION by the judge. Not, sexually molesting kids isn’t even a punishable crime.

    • Guest

Outrageous. But anyone else would be facing some serious prison time (and rightfully so.)

The church is partly to blame, and with few exceptions did nothing to stop the tide of humanism in schools, and later promiscuity, hard work and respect for elders. I would argue most embraced these philosophies.

I remember listening to guys like James Dobson, but don’t remember many other voices.

  • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

I don’t think that American society is had become more polluted morally, at least in my lifetime. Violent crime rates have dropped dramatically since the 70’s, though I suspect it’s because mandatory sentencing laws are keeping dangerous felons in prison longer and not because people have become any nicer. But I do recall some horrendous local crimes during my childhood in the 70’s in the Wash D.C. area: a little boy strangled by a pedophile, an armed robbery at a Roy Rogers in which some of the employees were raped, countless other sexual assaults reported in the local section of the Washington Post, a father who poured a bottle of sulfuric acid into his sleeping teenage daughter’s face (this incident merited a tiny article on page 5 or 6 ), and saddest of all, the posters of the still-missing Lyon sisters.

    • K

Jodie, let me attempt to change your mind. Those horrible crimes you mention, all the way back to the 70’s. Most likely why you remember them is they were shocking, and therefore stood out. These things still happen today, along with mass shooting, bombings, and yes even honor killings. Add to that this has become so commonplace, people will not even remember these crimes in 40 days, much less 40 years. The crimes may have been just as bad in the past. But they were not commonplace, and that alone makes a big difference..

      • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

According to the U.S. Justice Department, violent crime has dropped from a high of 51.7 victims per 1000 people in 1979 to a low of 15 per 1000 in 2009. But then they reported that there were 22.6 victims of violent crime per 1000 in 2011 and 26.1 per 1000 in 2012. (This data counts U.S. residents age 12 and older)

        • K

Remember a violent crime, can be as simple as a fist fight. I speak more along the level of heinous crimes. But to show the moral decline. I sight peoples reaction, to such crimes. On August 1, 1966 a man opened fire in Austin Texas, and became the Texas Tower sniper. That was a shocking and unheard of event. Now most people can not even name the town in Colorado that the mass theatre shooting took place. It is the fact, that the majority no longer find these things shocking. From my standpoint, that by itself shows a moral decline.

          • Kim

It doesn’t even make the news unless deaths are in the double digits, or it so incredible heinous and unbelievable. For example, some guy went on a stabbing rampage in Toronto, Canada the same day that 16 year kid did, but it didn’t make the MSM.

These things are happening everyday now. Every single day. Anyone that doesn’t see how far this country and the world itself has plunged into moral ruin is in denial, which may be yet another indication of the irreversible moral ruin. Have we hit peak immorality yet? That’s a scary thought.

          • K

Kim, even as bad as it is, I do not think we have hit peak immorality yet. When the economy goes over the edge. This Country will be much like a war zone. I am sure you are well read enough, to know the kind of atrocities than can come out of a war zone.

          • Kim

I agree K. It’s gonna get a lot worse before this system ends.

        • Pax Humana

Here is another fun fact, Jodie Lynn Gaeta. According to some studies, surveys, and research, it has been proven that police departments and other law enforcement agencies have actually been using quota systems to “prove” that the crime rates have “gone down,” but in reality, the crime rates have skyrocketed thanks to an increase in population and a decrease in stability in the minds, lives, and homes of people and that these people have been altering these quotas to become less and less to “show” people that the crime rates have gone down, miss. The truth is really nasty and it is all a big scam that has been brought to you by the New World Order and Illuminati as well as numerous subordinates.

          • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

Please name those studies; I would be interested in looking at them.

“According to the U.S. Justice Department,”

PS: If you want to know if you are being hypnotically used, it normally occurs in the show itself. Then after you are prepped, the commercial sends the person the suggestion they want you to follow. Record a show, then use the remote to skip the commercials. Chances are you will be asleep at the switch on the remote when the commercial starts. That is how you know there is something going on. I normally time the commercials with the DVR numbering system. That is how I know how to fast forward. It is usually accurate within one number.

People are angry, so this new age of moral relativism isn’t benefitting anyone. It’s aggravating everyone. Epic fail.

Today, I was turning into the post office parking area off a very busy six-lane boulevard. I saw a pedestrian coming but I had plenty of room and I didn’t wanna sit in the street with oncoming traffic so I pulled in ahead of the pedestrian. He yelled EFF YOU so loudly. I really, actually hurt my feelings. So I parked and got out and he was still there waiting for the crosswalk to change. I went up to him and apologized for not waiting. He changed in attitude, and apologized to me for yelling at me. I walked away wondering what else was so wrong in this guys life, that he felt it was ok to scream like that at a total stranger.

    • Jodie Lynn Gaeta

A soft answer does indeed turn away wrath.

    • Jeremy

It is refreshing to read someone say that these thing hurt their feelings, because it hurts mine also. I wonder also at how people can be so angry and say these things unprovoked. Just the way people treat each other, people they don’t know. Most of the time I don’t say anything because I don’t know what to say, how to respond. There is really nothing to say.

Your situation, I have been around that stuff my entire life, and I don’t understand it. When I saw this stuff enough I finally realized that America was doomed.

My mom and I were talking about this the other day, but I believe the US sends more missionaries (Protestant and Catholic) into the world than any other country. These people are called by God, but what about missionaries in America? Of all countries I believe America needs God the most.

    • Michelle Cofg

Yes, I had a similar experience. I pulled into a compact parking spot (unmarked) and because the way the cars were staggered I did not notice I was really close to the truck next to me. Well, I was called out of the store by my license plate # and met a very annoyed couple. I apologized and told them how sorry I was. I got a stare from the man’s wife that could have brought down a grown man. The man warmed up to me and told me to have a nice day but she looked like she could have killed me. How could you hold that kind of resentment towards someone who is saying how sorry they are. I don’t understand. She had not an ounce of forgiveness in her heart. I felt sorry for her, to have to live with so little compassion for others.

      • Kim

It could be that something else was bothering her. That was I thought about the guy that yelled at me. People are critically on the edge these days.

    • JSB

Hi Kim- People are so self-absorbed, worried, and on edge these days. It’s increasingly harder to make ends meet. We’re definitely living in the “me-me-me” generation, where the love of many has grown cold. I’m sorry that the guy hurt your feelings. I see it here in New England, too. Sometimes it’s a daily challenge to love the un-loveable. I’ve read the root cause of anger is fear. People are so afraid. Americans have been brought up to be materially more successful than the precious generation. Americans are taught to “go get yours” from an early age. What happens when the bottom starts to fall out? We are seeing that now. Don’t ever stop praying. Pray continually. God bless. Jim

  • Jason

So you are morally currupt if you don’t agree with your personal beliefs. Great article.

    • banana breath

No, you are morally corrupt if you support immorality. Good thing we as individuals don’t get to decide what is moral and what isn’t.

      • Jason

I don’t support immorality but this article says I’m immoral if I don’t believe in Christianity. The two are not one in the same.

        • Beatrice

….But the foundation of morality is Christianity so if you do not believe this then i do not know what you believe!!!!

          • Jason

I believe in most of the values Christianity teaches, just not the rest of it like the arc and the tower of babel and 600 year old men, etc.

          • banana breath

who sets those values then? The people? It’s convenient the ones who think they get to, drift towards immorality.

          • Laffy

            What a load of bullsheet.

Also, Jesus talked about helping the poor more than everything else combined yet the “Christians” think they should all die in the street.

          • MichaelfromTheEconomicCollapse

No, “Christians” do not believe that the poor should die in the street. Just read the book of James. And that is certainly not what I believe.

Where in the world did you get such an idea?

            Michael

          • Laffy

            Baloney.

Every single program to help the poor is cut by the “Christians”, not the “Progressives.”

But, the rich sure do need more tax cuts.

            (rolleyes)

          • otter1111

You can roll your eyes all you want, but the reason people want some of these programs cut is because they are incredibly wasteful and encourage lifelong dependency on the government.

Conservatives believe in individual charity, not an impersonal, inefficient, wasteful government that doesn’t have enough accountability.

Here’s a headline from ABC news:

The Most Generous States: Republican and Religious

Even ABC couldn’t really spin this one.

The reason: Many liberals want to use Other People’s money for charity, not their own.

As far as tax cuts, almost half the people pay no Federal income tax, so almost any tax cut could be called a tax cut for the rich.

          • Laffy

            Complete nonsense.

Righties cut programs for people who CAN’T help themselves. We’re not talking about “moochers”, we’re talking about people who CAN’T take care of themselves.

Is their fraud? Sure. But there are TRILLIONS missing from the military and you guys want to INCREASE their budget.

And the rich have never been richer and charities have never been more broke.

And I hate to break this to ya, but most of the moocher states are red states.

And as far as your article, I know a bunch of Lefties who do not write off their donations nor brag about it as they think it’s wrong.

          • otter1111

The rich have never been richer, and the poor have never been poorer under 5 years of OBAMA.

The facts of the article stand. In general people of faith and conservatives are more generous with their time, talent and treasure. You may know a few lefties that don’t claim donations on their tax return but I really doubt that’s the norm.

As far as spending goes, there are many things that need to be cut, including the military. I worked for the military and know that with most any Government organization there is no incentive to be efficient or cut costs. The problem with many of the gov’t programs is that there is very little incentive, if not a disincentive, to get off of them. Why work when you can get free food, housing, and an Obamaphone forever? You can work under the table and still take home the freebies, courtesy of someone else paying the bill.

Under Obama, the deficit has been over 1 Trillion every year. The total debt has increased more than all the first 41 Presidents combined, so we need to make many cuts, including entitlements. Obamacare, besides being a total disaster, was a step in the wrong direction.

          • Laffy

My bad. I forgot the rules.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, bad that happened on Georgie’s watch was the DEMS’ fault.

Yet, ALL BAD NEWS on Obama’s fault, even if the vast majority of it was put in place before he was even sworn in.

The economy melted down when Bush was Prez. And Righties have done nothing but DEMAND more and more tax cuts for the rich. So to blame that on Obama is just stupid.

As far as that “free phone”, that’s a program put in place by a Righty. Again, quit getting all your “facts” from Rush and Faux, Elmer.

And spare the cryfest about the debt. Georgie took a surplus and took us DEEP into debt, including having a tax cut during war time for the FIRST TIME EVER.

And, for the 73,984 time, Obama took the idea for a mandate from the Heritage Foundation….a MAJOR Righty Think Tank.

Even Newt said he loved the idea because it promoted personal responsibility. It only became “socialism” after Obama said he liked it.

          • otter1111

You honestly can’t try to link Obamacare with the “rightys.” Not a single Republican voted for that disaster. Not one. That’s a fact. The disaster that is Obamacare is completely owned by the Democrats.

So do not flow with the crowd for the Kingdom of God is not for the crowd. Not all Christians will make it to heaven. Show a good example.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. – The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans, chapter 1

I do not do God’s job. He determines who lives and who dies. With our modern medicine, we often have people live that would not have lived otherwise.
I think that someone in extreme pain should have the choice of whether to live or whether they would choose to die. We give that choice to animals and we deny that choice to human beings. But with that choice comes responsibility. A lot of potential abuse is there as well.

I once had a pet dog that suddenly came down with a disease. She was bleeding from the mouth all over the place and crying in pain. I had her put down. Only because the pain was too much and we had an autopsy done. The Vet told me she had a brain tumor and within 24 hours it would have exploded her head!
It was not an easy decision. I prayed about it and I felt bad about doing it until I heard from the Vet.

Nothing was stated about the millions of people who have suffered and died in the world by the hands of American forces, usually for corporate power and profit. e.g. oil companies, banking powers, agricultural corporate control and so on and so on.

    American Christian Churches have often
sided actively with State Power and hegemony through the years. Perhaps the Christian god is not happy with America for this support and apathy of massive oppression. If you believe in god you must know that he sees the full motivation of beings and ignores empty rhetoric. Apathy to suffering is god’s biggest no, no.

Well, not “all”…..they only cherry-pick the parts they like and ignore the rest of it.

        • Ricky Ross

What are you talking about? I just posted what was read before Congress in 1963…it really happened and it’s not a “fairy tale”. Also, I am a political Atheist! I have not voted since 2004!

There is no Left or Right — there is only freedom or tyranny. Everything else is an illusion, an obfuscation to keep you confused and talking about the specified, yet worthless talking points, as the world burns around you.

          • Laffy

The Bible is the fairy tale.

People are wetting themselves because we don’t follow the “morals” of the dumbest book ever written.

What makes it even more ironic is the VAST majority of “Christians” ignore most of the book themselves while cherry-picking only the parts they like.

          • Ricky Ross

You have your opinion just like everyone else does, but don’t you find it ironic that almost all tyrannies in all of history have banned or attacked the Bible?

Like it or not, the Communist had an agenda and it has played out perfectly. Do some research and you will find that the 1st thing that is always done to conquer empires, is to demoralize the people first. A demoralized society eventually loses their discernment to recognize right from wrong…which makes it easier to conquer them.

With that said, I completely agree with your last statement about Christians and their hypocrisy.

          • Laffy

It’s not an “opinion” the Bible is stupid….it’s fact.

For one, it does nothing but contradict itself the entire time. That’s why there are over 38,000 sects of your fairy tale ALL claiming that THEY have the RIGHT interpretation and it’s OBVIOUS.

            LOL!!

The list of pure stupidity in the Bible is endless. Why flood the entire earth and kill everyone to “start over” when you already know it’s going to fail?

And as far as “controlling people”, the FIRST rule of cults is to tell the sheep, “Only WE have the right answer to salvation and everyone else is trying to trick you so you HAVE to do what WE say.”

          • Ricky Ross

Yes, it is an opinion! See, you are what is considered a human being. Christians are considered human beings too. Both, you and them are allowed to view ideology differently. Christians believe in the Bible and you do not.

That is the summary of an opinion >>> now you know :-)

Communist do not like the Bible being involved in their take overs which, by the way, is a fact!

For some reason, they are afraid of the people believing in the Bible…check North Korea and China, where the Bible is ILLEGAL to own.

See, look how productive of an afternoon we are having here today…you are learning the difference between FACTS and OPINIONS and what Communist do not like…which is in common with what you do not like.

            Hmmm…curious are you a Communist?

          • Laffy

I love how you’re crying “it’s an opinion” when all you Thumpers proclaim “It’s a FACT the Bible came from GOD so EVERYONE has to follow it.”

Do you know what irony is?

I also love how you ducked the part about God killing everyone with the flood even though he knew it wouldn’t work.

If that isn’t stupidity, what is? Or does your nutjob God just get his jollies by drowning people?

And here’s another one for ya: You all crap your pants over abortion. And yet, your God doesn’t care one single bit. You’ve got MILLIONS of women BEGGING to get pregnant yet God ignores them and lets women get knocked up he KNOWS will abort it.

            I know, I know: “God’s plan.”

            (rolleyes)

          • Ricky Ross

??? What are you talking about??? I have never said a word about where the Bible came from, nor, I have I said a word about God???

Furthermore, you have NEVER typed a word to me about God and Flood.

Lastly, your last paragraph can be summed up with 2 words >>> FREE WILL! Yes, human beings have FREE WILL to do as they please…for now, but they will be held accountable for their actions, eventually!

          • Laffy

            Huh?

Do you believe the Bible is real or not?

And “free will” has NOTHING to do with God not caring about those fetuses.

And any God that needs to scare me with hell to get me to “love him” isn’t worthy of my love nor respect.

          • Ricky Ross

What does it matter what I believe?

The point of my original post that you commented on, is that the demoralization that is going on in this country is directly related to the Communist Goals that were told to Congress in 1963.

…and did I say anything about God not caring about fetuses??? No I did not!

Obviously, God does not need to try to scare people with Hell…you are living proof!

Please, find someone else to debate with as you have a very hard time of staying focused on the subject matter.

          • Laffy

Why are you too chicken to say what you believe?

And run away little girl since I destroyed your fairy tale.

          • Ricky Ross

            Chicken??? LOL…

See, what you are doing is called a “STRAW MAN argument!

[STRAW MAN: Is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of the original topic of argument. To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument]

You really have nothing to say in regards to the FACTS that I posted in my original post, so you try to attack other aspects of my person that have absolutely NOTHING to do with my original post.

You had best find someone below your pay grade to debate with, otherwise, you will continue to look foolish debating me.

          • Laffy

            Bwack, bwack, bwack!!!

I don’t blame ya, Sunshine. If I believed even a tiny bit of the dumbest fairy tale ever written like you do, I wouldn’t want to go on record either.

And, you’re lying when you say it has NOTHING to do with what you said in your original post.

Baby Jesus cries when you lie.

          • Michelle Cofg

Not everyone has to follow the Bible, even people who claim to be Christians do not follow the Bible I think that has been established. Lets just get to the basics. God calls each of us. We either choose to make a step towards Him or away. Those who step towards Him are more in the light, you can see the things of God more clearly and are given more faith for the next step. With each step towards God He will reveal more of the mystery (which He talks about in the Bible) which again strengthens your faith and brings you nearer to Him. It is an on going process and some of those steps involve you being obedient to His Word and the Spirit that will guide you, if or when you accept you are a sinner and ask for Jesus to save you . He is asking you to follow Him and not making any one do anything they do not want to do. We are not under some kind of spell. We just have more understanding of God’s Word because we have made those steps towards Him and not away.
What happens when you step away from God you are stepping a little further into darkness, which causes more blindness and you then become more easily deceived by the enemy. You are living for yourself, the world and the deceiver and not for God. The more you move away the darker you become. Pretty soon there will be nothing left of God in your presence and I do not wish that on anyone. It is a very scary place even for the most wicked. In fact God says not all called are my children. There will be those who despise His attempts to win them and choose to go their own way of darkness.
So no you are wrong the Bible is not the attempts to get EVERYONE to do EVERTHING is says but God even says in Romans it will show you are INCAPABLE of doing EVERYTHING it says and that is why you need Jesus Christ.

          • Laffy

You have zero proof….zero…that the Bible is “God’s word.”

Anybody can claim “God told me to write this”…..doesn’t make it true.

You Thumpers are such blind sheep who are easily manipulated by your religious leaders/politicians who claim they are doing “God’s work.”

and, if your fairy tale IS real, your God is a complete fruit cake jerk who doesn’t deserve my respect.

Plus, get over yourselves. You really think that we humans are “made in the image of God”? Get over yourself.

I seriously doubt the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE is so petty as depicted in the Bible and certainly doesn’t get “mad” because we worked on Sunday.

          • Michelle Cofg

We know which way you have chosen to go, you have cleared that up for all of us. But God is so loving He will chose to be there for you if you change your mind and chose to make that step towards Him. Have a nice day!

          • Laffy

Your nutjob God is not “loving” if people are sent to hell for 10 trillion years to be tortured for not believing a story that has zero proof.

Even Hitler or Saddam wouldn’t be that awful.

          • Michelle Cofg

10 trillion that’s not forever. The Bible says forever…eternal. He never wants people to have to do, something they don’t choose to do. He has given people a way out and gives all the opportunity to accept it. It is you who stays or runs away when He says come with me. You are destined for Hell already and again He has given you the way out. Your choice for Hell, not His. I will say again you will not get out in 10 trillion years as you keep posting. It is eternal. As life in Heaven is eternal so is life in Hell.

          • Michelle Cofg

            1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
            2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

          • Laffy

            I said 10 trillion to make a point…..it’s absurd.

Don’t believe a story that has any proof at all and you’re tortured for 10 trillion years/eternity.

It’s beyond stupid. And only the biggest a-hole to ever exist would do that.

To call him “loving and just” is the most retarded thing ever said.

          • Laffy

Gosh, a fairy tale telling the sheep, “Hey, everyone that doesn’t listen to me is gonna BURN”?

            So original.

You know ALL cults do that, right?

Nothing like FEAR to keep the retards in line…

          • Michelle Cofg

Yes we know what you feel, because you already said that. Several times actually to several commenters. New material is welcomed.

          • Laffy

Sure, just as soon as you Thumpers come up with something new instead of, “If you don’t believe our fairy tale, you’re gonna BURN…..because IT says so” over and over and over and over.

Any “God” that has to threaten me to follow it isn’t worth following.

          • Michelle Cofg

Again you are just repeating yourself. Please get information that can be contributed to part of an intelligent conversation.

          • Laffy

So let me get this straight. You Thumpers can’t come up with anything original and just repeat, “We good, everyone else bad” and you’re whining that “I” need to stop “repeating myself”?

            LOL!!

          • Michelle Cofg

I never said “we good” in fact we can be very miserable…only one is good that is God. If we have him and are living for Him…that is good. Us personally, still not good.

Mark 10:18…there is none good but one, that is, God. (Jesus words)

            Romans 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one

          • Laffy

            Stop the stupid word games.

You think you’re “good” as in, “We’re going to Eternal Disneyland because we believe a fairy tale and you’re gonna burn forever because you don’t. Neener neener.”

And your nutjob God is the EXACT OPPOSITE of “good”….for COUNTLESS reasons.

For one, EVERYONE gets programmed with sin because TWO people messed up? Only a psycho would do that.

          • Michelle Cofg

Why do you hate me? I am not playing games. Simply telling you what God says and what you think we believe is not what we actually believe.

          • Laffy

I don’t hate you….I feel sorry for you.

And stop with the “what God says” because you have ZERO proof the Bible comes from “God.”

            Zero.

          • Michelle Cofg

By feeling sorry for me you call me a retard? And several other names. And calling everyone else names is your demonstration of sympathy? I feel sorry for you and is the only reason I am continuing this conversation. I not once have called you a name or been rude or mean to you.

          • Laffy

            Spare me the phony outrage.

Telling people, “Your God is fake and only mine is real” is 10,000 times worse than calling someone a retard.

          • Michelle Cofg

I am not outraged a bit. Just questioning your morals and values regarding your “feeling sorry for others.”

          • http://www.msnbc.com/ Mr. Boo

It is many years later, has karma hit you yet?

          • Michelle Cofg

I think we should still vote…it may all be a lie but we can see if people are in support of things such as abortion (by simply checked who supports and sponsors them). There are people, a few and far between, who still hold biblical standards but they will disappear all together if you don’t take the time to find out who they are and mark a box. If they are lying and cheating us that will be on them not you and can say to God I did all I could to try and make a difference for this country. You can write these posts, I feel you can find the time to search out those who at least don’t take money from places like Planned Parenthood and NARAL for their campaigns. I know there is so much corruption, little of it may matter but I believe we still need to try! Stand up for what we believe and don’t give our country over to the enemy so easily. This was a land worth dying for…just ask the families that have lost their friends and family members for the freedoms fought for and we are just handing them over, like it is no big deal. I agree with a lot of what you were stating above but can’t stand by and let my country be torn apart by the wolves without even throwing my stone in.

          • Ricky Ross

I respect your opinion, but I do not believe that the corrupt system can be used to change or effect the corrupt system! As well, to keep this land from going further to the dark side, the people had better get the “it’s worth dying for” mentality back…and take the steps to secure it, before it’s too late.

          • Michelle Cofg

You may very well be right, but I can’t go down with out a fighting for what I know is right. I have a feeling it will be a battle we may loose our lives to. Good thing we have eternal live insurance, right!

          • Ricky Ross

I agree that a fight is needed (past due actually), but we can’t fight by rules that our enemy does not acknowledge, all the while they fight by rules that they make up along the way or ignore all together. Americans are so concerned by playing by rules that our enemy has sworn to uphold & protect, even though they violate and break them on a daily basis. Also, I agree 100% about eternal life insurance 😉

          • Michelle Cofg

Our God is so much smarter than our enemy. Now if we could get Christians to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit we just maybe able to coordinate something. But I realize we just may need to wait for the Lord’s return for that. Humble ourselves and pray. I agree world is too much “in our way” or in our lives at the moment. Just need to focus on winning more over to the army that will soon return! In the mean time don’t let them just take…make them pry it from your cold dead hands!

        • afchief

People like you are proof liberalism is a mental disorder!

          • Laffy

First of all, I’m not a liberal.

Second, the ones with the mental disorder are the ones that think “God” is actually some dude with super powers who has the thinnest skin in the universe.

You don’t believe a story that has zero proof and you burn for 10 trillion years?

Now THAT is a certified psycho….plus the freaks who call him “caring and just.”

            LOL!!

          • afchief

How do you think mankind got here? By some bacteria that evolved into a man? It takes more faith to believe in something as stupid as that than to believe there is a God who created us.

One day you will stand before him and you will wish you had this day back. But there will be NO second chances. Heaven or hell, the choice is yours.

          • Laffy

First, you keep showing your sheer stupidity by whining if I don’t believe in YOUR God, I don’t believe in ANY God.

You Thumpers are such close-minded fools.

Second, any God that needs to use FEAR to get me to “love” him isn’t worthy of my respect. The fact you idgets keep crying, “You just WAIT until you’re standing in front of him” proves how small minded you are.

The people who insult God the most are Christians as you’ve painted him/it/her as some cartoon cartoon that is a complete a-hole.

You really think the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE gets ANGRY and “sends hurricanes to send a message” and all the other nonsense if your fairy tale?

The Bible is a horrible Mother Goose tale.

          • afchief

Jesus said, I am the WAY, I am the TRUTH, and I am the LIFE. No one gets to heaven (God) but by me. John 14;6

Jesus gave his life for you because of his love for mankind. He gave us a choice, serve me or serve the god of this world (satan) and yourself.

          • Laffy

First of all, I don’t care what your fairy tale says. I hate to break it to ya, but they ALL say, “I’m the ONLY way.” It’s how they keep the sheep in line.

Second, you do know the Bible was written DECADES after Jesus died, right? How did they get every single thing down that he said? Did they have magic tape recorders? The people who actually wrote the Bible never even met Jesus.

Third, Jesus didn’t make any sacrifice at all. None. He went to heaven. That’s not a “sacrifice.” if he wanted to REALLY sacrifice, he would have gone to hell so nobody else would have to. Now THAT is a REAL sacrifice.

Fourth, your quote had zero to do with what I said…typical for a Thumper.

    • otter1111

      Typical liberal ad hominem attack.

  • Laffy

I love how all these Righties blame “progressives” for our decay.

The VAST majority of supporters of the death penalty, if not all, are “Christians”….even though it’s been proven MANY of those people are innocent.

The VAST majority of supporters of Bush and Cheney torturing people, if not all, are “Christians.”

The VAST majority of people who say “Screw the poor”, if not all, are “Christians.”

If “Marriage is sacred”, when are you guys going to outlaw divorce? When are you going to make adultery punishable by jail?

If that fetus is an “innocent baby”, when are you going to make smoking while pregnant illegal?

I could easily give you 100 facts how you’re the biggest hypocrites to ever breathe but you’ll just duck them like you ALWAYS do.

    • http://www.braintarts.wordpress.com/ MichaelL65

These people also fail to take into consideration that some of the most secularized nations, Norway in particular, and others, have a way lower crime rate, lower sexual crime rate, lower poverty levels, and few of the major societal ills of Christian America. I always have to laugh when they trot out the old argument that America is going to hell because it has abandoned God and the evidence is all around us. Well there are churches on every street corner, practically, so…

      • Laffy

        Amen.

Heck, Georgie is considered a “Super Christian” and he destroyed this country lying his butt off to get us into war, letting the Big Banks rape us, made torture perfectly fine in their eyes and much more awful things.

If their fairy tale is actually true, the LAST people getting into heaven are “Christians” as they are the most hateful people in this country….by FAR.

Jesus will be at the Pearly Gates saying, “You did/said WHAT in my name? And you think you’re getting in here? LOL!! Ummmmmmmmm, no.”

        • Michelle Cofg

I believe Jesus will say that to many professing Christians. This is one thing we can agree on. And it is sad so many are hypocritical. But we never said we are not sinners, in fact admit we are and have been forgiven. However if we never turn from our sin, and begin living a life that is noticeably different than others and there is no evidence of change than we can we need to check our stuff and make sure we are really saved. Because God will meet us right where we are but He will not leave us there. We are expected to change as we are no longer living for ourselves but for God. The people you described above are living for themselves.
And I don’t support people depending on the government for all their needs, forever (if that is what you are speaking of). This should be short term or for people who are trying but just can’t make ends meet not a permanent fix. Elderly who have worked for their SS benefits and those who are truly disabled and cannot work. We should be dependent on God in our lives who will enable people who really want to help the poor to give from the abundance He has supplied (their own pockets). I do help the poor. Do not drive a fancy car with payments I cannot afford. I do not have a big house but I am able to help the poor. I work and provide for the homeless ministries regularly. If more people lived a little more modestly, they too would could afford to help the poor. There would be no poor if every professing Christian put their money in the hands of someone in need. What do you do for the poor?

          • Laffy

I’ve always said, “If Thumpers spent 10% of the time they waste on making sure Gary can’t marry Larry, there would never be a hungry kid in America again.”

Thumpers act like Jesus said “I hate gay people” every other sentence when “Don’t be gay” didn’t even make God’s Top 10 list.

          • Michelle Cofg

What do you do for the poor Laffy?

          • Michelle Cofg

So third time…what do you do for the poor except complain “we” Christians don’t want everyone in this country dependent upon our government for all their needs. And “we” Christians hate gays. Which is not true either. We are commanded to love all sinners. We don’t want them calling it marriage because God has defined marriage as being between one man and one woman. They want to change what God has ordained. Them living in sin is a problem. But we all live in sin, yes still a problem. But they don’t call it sin and want everyone of us Christians to affirm it by being their wedding photographers, cake makers, caterers and if not they will sue us and probably win. That is a major problem. It is destroying our livelihoods because we not only don’t want to but can’t participate in their weddings due to our beliefs. It’s not about weather we love them or not…what it is, is the gay community wants us to be apart of it and confirm it.

          • Laffy

Stop with the “We don’t hate gays” baloney. You bigots don’t even want them to have hospital visitation rights and want to ban them from all kinds of jobs….let alone not marry the people they love.

            That’s hate. Period.

No one is forcing you to go to gay marriages and them getting hitched doesn’t hurt you one single bit.

You idiots ignore 90% of what the Bible teaches and focus on something barely even mentioned in your fairy tale.

And, for the 28,975th time, you have ZERO proof the Bible “Came from God.”

If Muslims started ramming their beliefs down your throats with “Because God said so”, you’d be MAD…..so stop acting innocent when you do it to others.

If “marriage was sacred”, you clowns would outlaw divorce and make adultery punishable by jail (or worse).

You’d also make it illegal for straight people to live together without being married.

So, you think it’s ok to turn away black people too?

And, why do you cherry-pick which sinners to turn away?

          • Michelle Cofg

If anyone is a bigot it is you. You hate Christians with such a passion you search them out to put them down. No one is shoving anything down your throat. You are chasing us down in order to persecute us.
All sins are bad. I don’t pick and choose which is worse than the other. However there is a difference between a follower of Christ (who is different than just any professing Christian) who sins occasionally or accidently and people such as the homosexual community who not only refuse to call it a sin but want it legalized and want everyone to affirm it is ok AND participate in it. Yes, people are losing lawsuits because they don’t want to participate in homosexual weddings because of their convictions.
True Christians call a sin a sin and don’t try to justify is by other means than knowing by God grace and love for us, He took our sins to the cross through Jesus Christ. We repent (turn from) and ask forgiveness from those sins.
Really don’t even bring up the Muslim thing because many have claimed they have done murderous acts in the name of Allah. I think you have missed out on the past 15 years of history (that is just the recent history). That is more than just shoving it down our throats. Again those are extremist just as we have “Christian” extremists that show no love for mankind. We can’t all be grouped together as you are doing.

And I can’t believe you even have brought the black community into this, shows how far you are out there. It is not a sin to be black. Why would you even consider the blacks to be in sin because their color?

          • Laffy

LOL!! Stop the victim act, dingbat.

            “Search/chasing them down”? (rolleyes)

And, you are a f-ing liar Thumpers aren’t trying to ram your fairy tale down our throats. Hell, you’re always bragging, “We HAVE to ban gay marriage BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS.”

Persecute you? You freaks are the ones going around telling people they are going to hell if we don’t follow YOUR “morals.” And I’ve never ONCE had an atheist or Muslim or gay person knock on my door trying to convert me though I get Thumpers all the time telling me what a “sinner” I am and need to be “saved.”

Now THAT is “chasing people down.”

Sins occasionally my butt. For one, your invisible sky daddy says not to covet. I don’t see you trying to outlaw that. This country was BUILT on coveting others stuff.

Also, you’re such a flaming idiot, you just proved me right. You said you weren’t trying to ram your fairy tale down our throats but think our laws should be based on it when it comes to gays.

            Checkmate.

          • Michelle Cofg

Why won’t you answers my questions about what you said about the blacks? Or what it is you do for the poor? Dodge, dodge, while I am answering all the questions you have for me.

          • Laffy

Actually, the moderator zaps half my responses because you guys can’t handle being proven wrong.

And, you have not answered all my questions.

Baby Jesus cries when you lie.

          • Michelle Cofg

Again, you have already said that and I thought you did not believe in Baby Jesus. Which questions did I not answer. You mostly just yell things at me. Calling me names.

          • Michelle Cofg

Thank you for showing everyone the responses from an unsaved person vs. a person saved by the love of Christ. You made my point quite clear. We are quite different people with different values. I had answered all your question all the while you had dodged all of mine. Thank you for your time and I hope others will read through this and be able to determine who in fact holds true hatred in their heart.

          • Laffy

Oh, and Jesus hung out with sinners all the time so you’re giving him the finger when you cry, “How dare you make me be around gay people.”

            Fraud.

      • Hammerstrike

Most rapes in Norway are done by moooooslims.

    • Randy Townsend

And the VAST majority of those that reject “religion” are those same people with no answers to the problems facing this nation (other than the misguided belief that a politician can solve the world’s ills… never worked, never will). Submission to the will of God is the only answer. Mankind can not solve the problems mankind is responsible for.

      • Laffy

actually, there are a TON of GREAT ideas out there to fix the country….and not a single one involves your fairy tale.

And stop with the “God’s will” crap. You have ZERO proof the Bible “came from God.” Zero. ANYBODY can claim, “God told me to write this.” Just look at the Mormon nonsense.

And according to your fairy tale, God gave us all sin before we were even born because 2 people made him mad. So, the responsibility is your nutjob God’s.

  • wahobbert

I have trouble differentiating between immoral behavior as mentioned in the list above and others with their own beliefs and standards trying to micromanage the lives of others through their constitutionally protected beliefs.

  • Becca

You can taste the bitterness of some of these posting comments. Just another sign of the times. People are so full of wrath. Our nation has been turning from God for a long while and the results are all around us. It is the true church’s fault first and foremost; judgment begins at the house of God. You can say you reject church and religion etc but when you bow before the King of Kings-Jesus Christ, and you will bow, your rejection of Him will be your own chosen condemnation.

    • http://www.braintarts.wordpress.com/ MichaelL65

Yet other, very secularized nations such as Norway, Iceland, for example have nowhere near the crime rates and poverty rates of Christian America. Maybe that should tell you something about your religious ideas?

      • otter1111

The point is we are NOT acting like Christians. When we did follow Christian beliefs (for the most part) in the past, we became a very prosperous nation.

  • James M Gomes

Almost everything here can be treated with education. The decline in education is maddening.

  • K

I find it interesting that you feel I have attacked your Church. My statement was how sad I found it ,that any professing Christian, would have an abortion. I am not qualified to judge your Church. I leave that to God.

    • otter1111

I don’t think he was posting about you, K.

    • Martha and Mary

sorry, K, I wasn’t specifically targeting you I just had to put the comment somewhere and after yours seemed to work.

      • K

        O.K. understood, no problem.

  • otter1111

Thanks for defending the Catholic faith. As I’ve posted before, when you attack the Catholics, you are on the same side as Hollywood, Obama, the Communists, the U.N., the homosexual lobby, and the abortion lobby.

Can a house divided stand? If the Catholic Church was so evil, as some of you assert, wouldn’t all these groups be in favor of Catholic teaching, instead of so against it?

I believe that Catholics and Protestants should be united in fighting evil, like abortion, instead of bashing one another.

    • Jo Brown

It’s fundamentalist bible-believing Christians that they’re against. The government is actually bed with the roman catholic church-state. Ronald Reagan and the pope of his time worked secretly to overthrow communism in Poland. What else will they work together on? The creation of a false religion to usher in the rule of the anti-christ? You betcha! It’s prophesied.

      • otter1111

Wrong. The U.N. singled out the Catholic church to rail against recently. The Da Vinci code movie was about the Catholic Church. In Communist China, the Catholic Church is underground. In 1957, the Chinese government established the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association, which rejects the authority of the Vatican and appoints its own bishops. Obama’s HHS mandate directly contradicts the Catholic Church’s teaching and forces Catholics to violate their beliefs.

Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II did help each other to bring the downfall of Communism. God Bless them both.

  • binx

It should be obvious to even the dimmest bulb by now, after 3+ years of Fukushima radiation, criminals running and ruining the world, the toxic gulf, deadzone Pacific ocean, that religions are nothing more than fairytales.

The real crime, is that people are selfish and stupid enough to want to bring more poor souls into this fetid cesspit!

You sicken and disgust those of us who can still think.

    LOOK AROUND FOOLS!

  • jaxon64

the fact that you find beastiality funny is additional evidence of our moral decline….
What television considers humor is disgusting–it’s all jokes about bodily functions, perverse sex or indiscriminate sex…I’m tired of humans.
Kim, a few days ago I was behind a small pick-up truck around dusk. Every other car still trickling home at the tail end of rush hour had their lights on. This little, black or dark blue Chevy S10 was running with no lights and was hard to see-especially if he was gonna change lanes or someone else wanted to change lanes and was looking in their mirrors.
Anyhow, I flashed my lights a few times to try and give him a hint–no luck. So my turn comes up and I pass him as I get into the left turn lane–as I pass him I rolled down the passenger window to let him know he had forgotten to turn his lights on and was driving in the dark by then–as I passed him he holds his middle finger up at me as I drive past and wouldn’t even glance my way–( I must admit to some non christlike thoughts, like, “I hope you crash a…hole”) but I just shook my head and shrugged it off—this is our society in a nutshell.

    • Willie

Good comment friend! God bless you!

      Bible quote.

The facts are that the bible contain such nonsense and that a lot of people who claims to be christian (could very well be anti-theist trolls) and that the bible is the True Word of Almighty God are unaware of all the nonsense and disgusting things in the “good book”.

If I had a book I sincererly believe to be dictated by the Architect itself, what would I do with it? That is right, I would make sure to read it.

“In 1970, the average woman had her first child when she was 21.4 years old. Now the average woman has her first child when she is 25.6 years old.”

Actually this one is a good thing. Having a baby too early is worst thing as age of 21 is still to young.

    • Michelle Cofg

These women are having abortions the age would be must lower if 50 million babies have not been aborted in the US alone from 1960-2013.

  • catlick

the reason there are fewer abortions among catlicks is they prefer altar boys

like “K” states, and I agree, no matter where you go, what store you go too, it seems like the proprietors think’s all people are thieves or scammers to which I’m not and I take offence. I loved to get out go shopping go to the movies etc., but now you don’t know if you will return, or get killed, by a criminal or for that matter by the trigger happy cops. it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
May god have mercy on our souls.

  • Laffy

    Spare us the pity party.

Your church ran the biggest kiddie rapist ring in the world. And before you start whining, “It was only a few priests”, about 60% of the Cardinals and Bishops were involved in covering it up.

How many of them did the church kick out? Zero. In fact, many of them got promoted.

And how many Catholics left the church in protest? Virtually zero.

You all pray to the same invisible sky daddy so don’t act like you didn’t have options.

    You make me puke.

    • Martha and Mary

Well, to turn the tables, how many gym teachers and protestant pastors “activities” have been covered up and forgotten about? Meanwhile the Catholic church has paid MILLIONS to the families affected by this. Most of these incidents took place decades ago and the priests are either dead or in retirement now so there isn’t a whole lot that can be done now in that regard. And you say nobody left the church after this? Lots of people left forgetting that they are also sinners and will have to stand in front of God’s judgment one day. Again, I am not defending anyone who preys on children, just asking for a bit of fairness in reporting such abuses and reasonable thinking from people to admit that we all fall short. Maybe your particular vice is different but we all have them. And yes I do pray to my Father in heaven and will continue to do so.

      • Laffy

If any schools were running a kiddie rapist ring, not only would all the gym teachers be in prison, so would all of the principles that passed them around like baseball cards so they could keep on raping.

The Vatican did ZERO to the cardinals and bishops who participated in the organized crime.

And you make me vomit with the, “Hey, those guys are old now so what ya going to do?” Puke.

And it wasn’t “lots” that left as there are still over a BILLION Catholics.

And to compare raping kids, and the system of passing them around so they can rape more, to “every other sin and no one is perfect” is one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever read.

        I’m done with you, POS.

        • Martha and Mary

Please reread what I wrote… I am not saying abuse is okay and anyone who commits it should be punished, but it is pretty hard to punish someone who is already dead. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church is (and has been) making changes to protect kids better. I
work in my church nursery and Sunday school and before I could do so, had to undergo a background check, take a safety protocol class and continue to be
re-certified to keep working with the children. There are also rules in place like the nursery/classroom cannot be open unless two adults are present at all times and the kids themselves go through a program on how to stop/recognize any kind of abuse in case they are in that
situation at home, school etc. Of course the media never mentions these positive things as they have moved on to the next terrorist shooting scandal or adverse weather storm to keep their ratings
          up.
Have you ever lied? Stolen something or looked with lust at
someone? Have you ever not said
something to defend someone when you should have? Yelled at someone in anger? Well, join the crowd that we are all sinners,
myself included. We all are in need of a divine physician and Jesus himself said he came to help the sinners…. even those who sin by committing child abuse. No sin is too great for Him to forgive if we
repent and ALL sins are detestable to Him—mine and yours– even if they are different sins than child abuse. This does not mean the sins are okay or we should not work to change/repent, just that we live in a fallen world and sin is a reality.
And, yes, schools and businesses are terrified of bad press as their budgets are strapped so thin. I very much think they sweep these scandals under the rug, offer people the chance to “resign” rather than firing them and all kinds of things to avoid people finding out. And when the media does report on one, they give it almost no air time compared to what they do if it involves the Catholic church.
Yes, the stats show that many people did leave over this, others of us stay because we know that even if the Church isn’t without issues, it is still the Church Jesus left on this earth to carry out His mission. And we work from within to make the church better.
And since I don’t know you, I will assume you are an adult and mention that juvenile name calling simply makes others not take your arguments seriously.
I need to go get some other things done today, but I wish you well.

        • uleaveuswithnoalternative

POS (piece of sh*t) Now that’s a truly CHRISTIAN response Laffy. I’m sure Jesus is very proud of your vile hatred and filthy mouth.

          • Laffy

I’m not a Thumper, Gomer. I actually have a brain. The Bible is the dumbest fairy tale ever written.

The “vile hatred” is from you freaks.

        • Karen

Laffy, Why do you suppose there are today such heavy protective protocols in place in public schools to keep kids from being abused? The truth is this kind of abuse was far more prevalent in such public institutions than in any churches. Sadly, deviancy and abuse can be anywhere some have power over others. (Consider the dismal statistic cited in this post of sexual abuse in the military.) It is part of the fallen human condition (a given reality of human existence in all Christian traditions). And, yes, It is truly vile wherever it occurs. No Christian of any stripe would disagree with that.

          • Laffy

Of course, you have proof it was “far more prevalent” in schools than the Church, right?

And we’re talking covering it up and passing around the rapists like baseball cards like The Church did.

          • Jimbozo91

Im sorry something bad probably happen to you when you were a child but don’t take it out on others. No one agrees with how any organizations power structure handles atrocities like child abuse.

          • Laffy

Nope, never molested. You probably think only black people are outraged by racism towards them too….

And, you’re lying that “no one agrees” because there are still over a Billion Catholics who stayed with the Church when they could have easily picked a different one since they all follow the same God.

          • Jimbozo91

I left the catholic church 30 years ago. I believe all organized religion is bad but I have family still Catholic and don’t know any that wasn’t outraged at the abuses and whitewashes.

          • Laffy

Being “outraged” means absolutely nothing if they didn’t quit the Church and stop giving them money because then they know they can do ANYTHING and the sheep will still keep coming.

          • Jimbozo91

Small church in a small town is kinda disconnected from the Vatican and as far as I know most friends and family there don’t much like the Vatican nor the pope.

          • Laffy

You can’t be Catholic and not follow the Pope.

What’s the excuse for “big churches in big towns”?

          • Jimbozo91

of course you can. I know many.
There are no excuses for any of the abuses. I would prefer dealing with it like they did in the Wild West.

      • krinks

How many schools or “protestant” churches are bankrupt because of the many lawsuits that resulted from them covering these things up? NONE. Your church can’t say that.

    • uleaveuswithnoalternative

Laffy, “You make me puke?” Your nasty responses and the animosity you express towards Catholics is exactly what kept me in the Catholic Church for so long. There was (is) never any shortage of “good” Christians who were more than willing to tell me, with malice, hatred and vitriol, how my wonderful little grandmother, mother and father were burning in hell and how I was headed there too. This hatred kept me away from true Bible believing Christians and Messianics who truly proclaimed the love of God.
I eventually left the Catholic church but have a great love for Catholics and do what I can to help them find the Yeshua (Jesus) of the Bible. I despise what the Vatican did with child abusing priests but let’s be honest, the Protestant and Jewish faiths have had their share of pedophilic predators also.
If you’re going to take the speck out of your brothers eye, be sure to take the plank out of your own first.

      • Laffy

You’re even more sickening with, “But, but, but…..other churches protected kiddie rapists too” as your excuse.

        Vile.

    • krinks

The current Pope was the point man in helping to cover up the pedophile cases.

    • Inigmadik

      You REALLY NEED Jesus!!!!

  • Weeeee

The Catholic Church has changed their rules so much since the origin. You practice pagan holidays like lent and think that if a priest blesses a cracker it’s the body of Christ. Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon, let’s not even talk about the Jesuits and all the religious slaughterings behind the Catholic Church.

    • Martha and Mary

Question for you…. is Jesus a liar? In the gospel of John chapter 6 Jesus says He is the bread of life and his flesh is real food and his blood real drink. This is the ONLY recorded part of the gospels where people who were following Jesus left because this teaching is so hard. Jesus then turns to his disciples and asks if they too are leaving. Jesus then proceeds later at the Last Supper to show how this is teaching is fulfilled. They were at Passover…. the time when lambs were slaughtered for the Israelites to be freed from slavery in Egypt. Jesus is the unblemished lamb who was slaughtered for us. Remember those who did not eat the Passover lamb found their first born dead the next morning alongside the Egyptian’s dead. So did Jesus lie and was he not the ultimate Passover lamb or was He truthfully fulfilling God’s plan. Lent is a prayerful time of fasting, almsgiving and repentance before celebrating Easter. What part of that is so terrible?? Personally I think if more people did those things we would not see quite the moral decay we see today in our culture.

      • Jo Brown

yeah yeah yeah bla bla bla… Jesus also said be careful of the yeast of the pharisees and teachers of the law. Meaning, be careful of the false teachings that will seem right but will spread through the church and destroy it. The catholic church is full of false teaching that anyone with a reasonable understanding of the scriptures can recognise: Do not call anyone on earth Father because you have one Father and he is in heaven. There is ONE mediator between man and God, the man Jesus Christ. (not the pope therefore) Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. (saturday the 7th day, not sunday the 1st day) And so on and on…

  • Pax Humana

The Holy Scriptures are not a straw man argument, you modern day Pharisee! How DARE you blaspheme YAHWEH EL ELOHIM our Creator!

  • Michael

Who can forgive sins but Jesus alone, you are lost these people bow down to idols all the time, they do not even know who’s bones are in that building but the pope bows down to them, the pope thinks he is the fleshly representative of Jesus while he is in heaven but the Bible clearly says that is the Holy Ghost quit believing your false fables, they pray to Mary to apostles of old that is a pagan worship practice, the rosary is another form of pagan religion,

As far as John 20:23 that does not mean sins that Jesus can forgive, that is a sin against a person,

  • Michael

As far as the second commandment the catholics left this one out,

    Exodus 20:4

    King James Version (KJV)

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

rome is the first beast in Revelation 13, and is the beast in Revelation 17 and the catholic church is the harlot riding on the back of the beast. Get out of that false church, the blasphemy God all the time thinking they can forgive sins, calling themselves the fleshly representative of Jesus while he is in Heaven, when it is the Holy Ghost, read Revelation chapter 17-18 and you will know the truth about the pagan organization that you go to,

    • otter1111

You quoted Exodus in your post. In fact, five chapters later God commands the Israelites to make two golden
statues of angels as part of the lid of the ark of the Covenant (Ex
25:17-19). That’s an image of something from heaven. Then, in 1 Kings 6,
God commands that graven images of flowers and palm trees be made, as
well as 15-foot tall statues of cherubim. And in Numbers 21, God
commands that a bronze serpent be made and uses it to heal the
Israelites. It was preserved for 800 years and then destroyed when some began to worship it (2 Kgs 18:4).

Catholics do not worship statues, because only God is deserving of adoration. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is adamant in affirming this (CCC 2112–2114).

When a Catholic bows to a
statue, he is not worshiping it any more than King Solomon worshiped
Bathsheba when he bowed to her in 1 Kings 2:19. In other words, the
honor given to images does not detract from the honor that is due to God.

      • Michael

Then explain to me why there is pictures of your supposed pope bowing down to a set of bones, I see you also neglected the second commandment in the Ten Commandments and avoided that one as well, God, Jesus ordered these to be made, and the mercy seat had two cherubim’s on top not two angels, the devine mother worship goes all the way back to Nimrod, catholics celebrate pagan holidays they do war they want when they want, rules are good when they are informed, but the catholics ignore Gods rules, only Jesus can forgive sins, what about the pagan rosary ounce again from paganism witch craft, Jesus never had long hair, it is a shame for a man to have long hair and the glory of a woman to have long hair for a covering, keep believing what you want, but the catholics are going a fast route into perdition. ungodly ways.

        • otter1111

Lots of accusations here. It would take a book to refute them all.

          Concerning relics:

In the fourth century the great biblical scholar, Jerome, declared, “We
do not worship, we do not adore, for fear that we should bow down to the
creature rather than to the creator, but we venerate the relics of the
martyrs in order the better to adore him whose martyrs they are” (Ad Riparium, i, P.L., XXII, 907). `

Similar are the cases of the woman cured of a hemorrhage by touching the
hem of Christ’s cloak (Matt. 9:20-22) and the sick who were healed when
Peter’s shadow passed over them (Acts 5:14-16). “And God did
extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or
aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and diseases left
them and the evil spirits came out of them” (Acts 19:11-12).

You talk about Catholics and ungodly ways. The truth is, without a teaching authority, morals become relative. Look at what the Protestant churches used to believe, and what they believe now.

On Contraception, all Protestants prior to the 1900s taught it was morally wrong-none that I know of do today.

Abortion? The United Church of Christ, the Salvation Army, The American Baptist Churches, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Evangelical Luthern Church in America, the United Methodist Church, and the Episcopal Church all do not take a firm stand against or actually support abortion in some way.

There are around 25 denominations that support homosexual unions in some way.

The bottom line is that sola scriptura and sola fide have led to total doctrinal chaos.

Remember that there was no such thing as a Protestant for the first 1500 years of Christianity. There were almost no bibles since there was no printing press and many people couldn’t read. Who could they learn the Christian faith from?

1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

          • Michael

You sure must be a devote catholic. because they are the only ones that argue sola scripture, I care not about these other denominations I have nothing to do with any of them, search out your own salvation with fear and trembling, as far as the sola scripture, catholics must like to forget John chapter 1 verse 1-14 The Word is The Word not to be taken away or added too, not to be interpreted, but done as it says, I know not why you bring up abortion and homosexuals, abortion is killing and homosexuals is an abomination, the funny thing about catholics is, its them against all other Christians, maybe thats why they killed over 100 million people, guess you never did a study on Jeconav concentration camp ran by the muslims cleric and the catholic priest and all the people they killed, or the obelisk in the middle of rome that was for osiris, every stamp of the catholic religion has paganism in it, if catholic were Christians then the obelisk in the middle of rome would be torn down, but instead they gather around it, that is the main worship for the sun god, good and evil do not make good, can not get grapes form a thistle tree, also the baptism in the Catholic church, all the examples are in the name of Jesus, not the trinity, show were in Acts when the new Church was formed they baptized that way or better yet show me in the Bible were they baptized in the trinity, Mathew 28:19 was for the baptizing of nations not people, reference Luke 24:44, I can tell you the from my studies the catholic church is the beast in Revelation 13 the first one and the second beast in the u.s., the beast in Revelation 17 is the political power of the vatican and the harlot in top is the church, remember the catholic church became a political and spiritual power in 538ac and fell to Napoleons general in 1798ad the deadly wound and also 1260 years just as the Bible prophesied, I know the catholics like to skip Revelation because then the people would know what the church really is.

          • otter1111

Come on. Catholics killed 100 million people? Seriously? There were definitely bad people in the Church in the past, but even at the time of the Spanish Inquisition, there was probably only 10 million people in all of Europe.

I’m glad you brought up John chapter 1 verse 1-14 The Word is The Word not to be taken away or added to, because that’s exactly what Luther did. The Catholic Church established the Canon of scripture late in the fourth century. It was settled for about 1000 years until Luther came along and took out some of the books he didn’t like. He also added the word “alone” to make the statement “faith alone” in his translation. He wanted to throw out James and Revelation as well.

The problem with Sola Scriptura is that everyone is their own pope. You have different interpretations of scripture everywhere, including your own. Sola Scripture was mentioned nowhere before the 1500s. Why not?

As far as baptism, it is for individuals, not nations. Look in Acts where the eunuch wanted baptism after listening to Phillip. There are many more examples:

Acts 16:15 she was baptized, with all her household
Acts 16:33 he and all his family were baptized at once
1 Cor 1:16 I baptized the household of Stephanas

          • Michael

Funny it is how you still do not want to talk about who can forgive sins, or that obelisk in the middle of that square or the concentration camps what about marriage most of the high priests in the Bible were married, also you never said anything about water baptism, those verses you posted about those families sing baptized said nothing about babies, are we to assume there was babies, how can a baby know what sin even is, everything word or deed do in the name of Jesus, Colossians, does not say something’s everything, also there is no interpretation of the Bible, it’s Jesus Word do a it says, not what does sinner pope tells you. As far a Martin Luther catholics always compare all churches to his work, I can careless about Martin Luther he is not my savior Jesus is, and I do what Jesus tells me to do, not some pope, no where in the Bible does it talk about a pope, rome was pagan and will always be pagan.

Reading all those posts below points out one, painfully clear thing:

We, who claim to be Christian, are so busy arguing amongst ourselves that we have completely lost sight of what we are really here to do. We are here to be “as a city on a hill,” a shining light to the world. When we sit back and squabble about who’s right or wrong, we diminish His power on this earth.

To put it bluntly, Christ is right; you are wrong. Get your eyes off each other and put them squarely on Him. Remove the plank from your own eye first so you can see the speck in your brother’s eye to better help him see more clearly. If we acted more like paragons of virtue rather than squabbling 3rd graders, we would be changing our country for the better! Instead, we’re busy arguing with each other and tearing one another down.

How can a house divided against itself stand?

  • Terri Horn

i went to a catholic church when i was younger do you know the catholic church is the only denomination that NEVER sends an invitation to non believers who may attend. I went from 2nd grade thru 12th grade. They also have confessions that is why Jesus died for us so no more intecession by Rabbi’s (priests). Read the autobiography of all popes from the 1st to john paul the 2nd. They believe they are Jesus and they revere mary the mother more than Jesus. They end their prrays in the virgin Mary’s name and consider her to be quieen of heaven where is that located in the bible. Most of this i found out or thought about just a few short years ago. Read the biographies of the past popes and what you read should shock and stun you and I doubt anyone who is a true disciple of Christ would want anything to do with this church. I have not heard anyone I know disparage the church this is from research i have done and the average catholic is not aware of the agenda of the leadership o fthe church. Even the current pope has had bad things whispered about him. BUT answer this how can a person not even on the short list be the one elected and this was said by a bishop who actually voted for this pope.

    • Michelle Cofg

I have left the Catholic church because of some of the thing stated here. I also believe they put the priest in place of Jesus as the mediator between man and God. When the scripture clearly says this: 1 Timothy 2:5

      For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Among other things, like baptizing babies which is never commanded in the Bible. It is a show of your faith in Jesus and signifying you are entering in Jesus’s death and resurrection as His new creation.
      Romans 6
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Does that sound like something a baby can do? “Walk in a newness of life.”
Also it is not a good idea to confess everything you have done wrong or every lustful thought to one man. He is not God and cannot handle the responsibility or weight of that kind of information and think it will eventually corrupt a man. I am telling you our pastor is glad he does know all our sins! Now I am not saying that there are not Christians in the Catholic religion but I do believe much of the Catholic religion reason for being is to govern the people and not to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Bottom line no personal relationship with Jesus not really a Christian.
I am not sure why one stays Catholic if they are reading the studying scriptures. Those you reasons alone lead me out. But with some the family tradition is simply too strong.

      • Pax Humana

You need to forget all about the traditions and start to follow the Truth of the Word of YAHWEH EL ELOHIM. Did not the Book of Matthew, Chapter 25 (I think), mention something about not worrying about things in your life? The Holy Scriptures also say that YAHASHUA HA’MASHIACH did not come to bring peace, but, rather, He came to bring about division and if you love your family more than you do your Creator, then you are making your family members idols and that is called idolatry and it is also a form of witchcraft, rebellion, sedition, and treason against YAHWEH EL ELOHIM and the Kingdom of Heaven. You need to quit listening to the traditions of humans in your lives!

      • mike

I certainly hope your church is independent, and not entangled with the state. Is your church 501c3 compliant? Then, you should know that Jesus does not own your church, the IRS does! That 501c3 tax exemption thingy? It means the IRS and thus the State can forbid certain topics from being discussed IN church, which of course means you are owned by the State, not Jesus. So, before getting all high and mighty about how, thank God YOUR church ain’t catholic, and please don’t get “uppity” about false idols, especially when your church is owned by the state…. Can/Does your pastor talk about the perversity of the gay marriage fiasco? How about abortion? If he is not able or willing to, it means either the church will lose their tax exemption status, or he doesn’t want to step on any toes, which is a problem altogether different. Does he /Has he ever talked about the political vote? How does that fit in with separation of church and state? Either way, churches that are not wholly and completely owned by Jesus…well.

        • Michelle Cofg

Yes he does speak out on all of those issues. Especially gay perversion and such topics as abortion and many types of immortally. Actually He speak on all topics that can be found in the scriptures as he goes through the scriptures with us line by line and makes it very clear where the US is turning in these last days. He does not go into great length on politics candidates, only touches on them but does talk about the issues coming to the polls. I believe he has been smart to not be under the thumb of the state, as the church is on his property and it pays rent to him (when we can afford to) and he does not even get paid for his time. We are a church body and are all included in the financial details of the church and he gets nothing from the state. Money is not his motive for any of his work. Only God’s will for his life and those in his care. He also speaks out on the exact thing you are presenting to me. The political correctness that is sweeping over the nation and has infiltrated our churches. They also are giving over to the traditions of men and serving mammon and not God. So it is not restricted to the Catholic religion. It is the only other church I have really been a part of but know it happens in many churches. A good argument I will add. I am not uppity but I know these things because my pastor does speak out on the topics. And I have many good teachers which are warning against what you have stated. He also tells us to be ready for persecution that is coming and is already here when we take a stand for what we know God says.

  • otter1111

Just in this thread you have called various posters Elmer, bigots, American Taliban, and bible thumpers, along with your angry, sarcastic, arrogant tone. And then you say nobody launches more personal attacks than “Righties” do.

    You see any contradiction there?

    • Michelle Cofg

No reply from Laffy on that one. :-)

  • Ross Boyd

We are all brothers an sisters in Christ ,if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. An the only way to heaven is thru him. So
when you bash a Jesus loving god fearing believer be it catholic or other , well you are bashing your self. We should stop pointing fingers an putting down, an start being constructive an lift up an not tear down. Just remember we are all capable of doing shameful things, it’s the love of god that truly keeps us from doing horrible things. If you want to believe it or not there is a heaven and a hell. It’s up to you to chose which place you wish to go to for eternity . Instead of dividing us believers work on uniting, things just might get better for all. And just maybe more unbelievers may become believers. Remember god loves you too! Our time is getting short.

  • Michelle Cofg

I volunteer in the Crisis Pregnancy ministries and what they say is true about women in the churches. It is not just plaguing the world but all of our churches. Remember it also says these women claim to be Christians. That does not mean they are faithful followers of Christ.

  • Michelle Cofg

    1 John 1:7-10
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The word says we should confess our sins to Jesus and other believers not a priest which has no power to forgive your sins.

    Psalm 32:5
I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

    James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
I don’t like when any religion changes the doctrine to their traditions to suit their own needs. This is not simple misunderstanding for the most part but willful disregard for what God has said in His Word.

  • Jo Brown

I suspect this will offend you, but the catholic church is not God’s church. It is instead the harlot described in Revelation, who was drunk on the blood of the saints. The catholic church is actually a church-state, not just a religious but also a political body. It is satan’s instrument to mislead and destroy God’s people. It does not follow the biblical teachings. It taught that the pope could forgive sins, that he stands in the place of God on Earth, that he IS God on Earth, etc. It changed the 10 commandments, taking out the 2nd and splitting the 10th in two to retain a total of 10 commandments. It changed the day of worship from Saturday (sabbath) to Sunday without any scriptural authorisation to do so. The bible says of this harlot, this beast, that he utters proud words and blasphemes and shall think to change the laws and the times. This is exactly what I have just briefly outlined.
    It doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love the people within the catholic church. It’s the satanically ruled and inspired system that he is against. And God’s message to you is “Come out of her my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.” (Rev 18:4-5)
Check out “amazing facts [dot] org” and “final events [dot] com” for further details about these things. I urge you to check these out, and then exit the catholic church, because you are doing satan’s work by handing out all these catechisms to encourage people to join that church.

    • Pax Humana

Adventists and similar minded people are no better than the Catholics and Protestants. What the lot of them should do is to abandon ALL of their pagan ways and to TRUTHFULLY follow the Jewish-Christian Holy Scriptures.

      • Jo Brown

We’re all sinners, Pax. Some of us are warning others about Satan’s counterfeit church. Others are busy hampering them instead of aiding them.
BTW, I’m not an adventist, any more than I’m a baptist or a sally or whatever. I’m a follower of Christ.

    • Stephen “Steve” Sponsler

The Catholic Church is to the U.S. Gov’t as Muslims are to Islam..they are just opposite sides of the same coin..just listen to Pope Francis..he ‘welcomes them in with open arms’..all the faith as Abraham..

See this is one of the comments that never went through until now…it just popped up from yesterday.

  • Michelle Cofg

Really, you used the word retard several times to several commenters. That is not making fun of someone who was born with a mental disability? Retard is a hateful term for the mentally disabled. And you have used it flippantly through out these pages.

    • Laffy

      Spare me the phony outrage.

You think everyone that worships a different God than yours is worshiping a false God, or basically Satan.

So, you think everyone but a Fundie is a Satan-worshiper.

      • Michelle Cofg

Why are you telling me what I think? All over, this is what you have done…tell us Christians what we think. Which is absolutely untrue. You have know idea what the Bible says and what I believe. You won’t even listen to me, this is a vain conversation. Like I said others can see which person by their words is being hateful. I hope you find something better to do with your life than this. Good bye Laffy I will pray for you.

        • Laffy

I’m only repeating what Fundies have told me for almost 50 years.

And I know the Bible better than the VAST majority of people who claim to follow it.

What is shocking is that you are really that old. I had you pegged for a teen. Early twenties maybe, but really pictured a teen. That is funny. Good bye now.

One of them is to place them in a certain place in your high horse, so take a wild guess as to where you should put your other finger? Now get out of here, you worker of iniquity and servant of Lucifer!

Your (the author’s) idea/definition of “morality” must come from a purely Christian source. This is a sad and negative thing, considering there are so many more faiths and ideas of morality in North America that should also be examined and considered. “Morality” and the so called collapse thereof, is purely a conjecture of your own ideas/beliefs of how America SHOULD be, rather than what it is or the reality that it strives to be! This list is merely your attempt to control the culture and society of America that you (the author) disagree with!

  • A. Void

So, not being some stripe of Christian is inherently evil? Very unbiased of you.

  • A. Void

Abortion is mentioned many times as sign of moral decay, but in the Bible God indicates multiple times that He places no value on infants less than a month old. In addition causing a woman to miscarry does not carry the same punishment as committing murder, according to His of law. God also endorses the killing of children, infants, and women who surely had pregnant members in their midst. AND, God Himself describes a method for men to force their wives to miscarry if they’re suspected of adultery. To repeat, God gives Biblical instructions on how to perform an acceptable abortion. And considering abortion immoral is based on what exactly?

  • newsalert01

with a few exceptions, I don’t care what the Catholic Church says, I care what it does, and has done in history.

  • krinks

I made it as far as your denial that your church teaches you must earn your way to Heaven. In fact it does. You MUST not miss Mass without a valid excuse. You MUST go to confession. These are things you MUST DO to go to Heaven.

  • Terri Horn

How do you explain the confessional. Jesus was the ONLY one without sin and he is the ONLY one to forgive it. Priests do not have and have NEVER had authority by Jesus to forgive people their sins. Also the first pope was NONE of the apostles the Catholic Church was started 400 years after Jesus died. Also look at the Church now. Having muslin religious take part in a church service???talking how there is more than one way to God talking about have a ONE WORLD RELIGION. Can anyone say beast of the tribulation. I went to a Catholic church and I know some of the inside stuff. You need to read autobiography of former popes and who they believe they are. The Pope now is a Jesuit have you read what oath they have to sign????If any catholic had read the oath they have to sign they would not be happy with this Pope. It is chilling. Read what the people of his village have to say about him and people who do agree with him tend to disappear. There are Christians in the Catholic church but if you read the Bible land they go to a church service you would know they are contradicting the word of God. Mary was a normal woman who God honored by choosing her to be the mother of Jesus yet the Catholics place her above Jesus also for all the years I went to a Catholic NOT ONCE did they ever give the invitation for people to be saved. Of course this Pope has now told his Church not to try and save people.Oh yea then there is the statement only Roman Catholics can be saved. Show me in the Bible where Jesus said only Roman Catholics would be saved and if a mother died in childbirth and the baby died and the mom was not baptized both the mom and baby would go to hell. You only have to ask Jesus into your heart you should be baptized but you will not go to hell if you are not and Jesus would not send a newborn baby to hell just cause the mother was not baptized. The catholic church was started by Constantine and he used some of Christianity and some of the idol worship that was going on at that time. You can see that in how they worship Mary. You pray to Mary. I have NEVER heard a catholic ever end a prayer in Jesus name. He is the one that should be worshiped not his mother, not the saints that the catholic church chose as saints. Definitely the pope should not be able to not allow someone to take communion cause the member did not ask permission to get a divorce. I have lots more, I hope you do some reading about the catholic church. The things I have stated are not due to what I have heard I went to a catholic church for several years, i had friends who were catholic, my brother became a Catholic and my grand father was a Catholic

but remember that America houses the populations of those deliberately trying to destroy the US who are responsible for problems which include liberal slut demonrats and their retarded liberal brats. muslims make better athiests than students of either charles darwin or richard dawkins. muslims are better fraudsters and thieves and oppressors than democrats more tempting sluts than feminists bigger liars than the british and stronger criminals than the mafias. muslims make better witches and more powerful spell casters than the church of satan better idol worshipers than the Roman Catholic Church who gives them their instructions and are scarier than North Korea. muslims make more powerful liars and
demons. they also control a majority a large majority of the US media so they put out more information to lay blame on loyal patriotic American republican conservative Christians instead of pointing blame where it really belongs at liberal democratic atheist pagan prostitute feminists or their anti-American organizations. whose to blame for the decline of America’s trust in Jesus Christ? those who complained about him to begin with!!! yes kids these days are dumber more criminal and worth nothing but the society that bred them is more wrong than they are and invaders who force diversity and multiculturalism are even more guilty for breaking our laws, our hearts and trying to break our spirits or our faith in plain english. remember that so you dont repeat this social retardation. not respecting rejection or barriers leads to absolute retardation and social misery also known as HELL where hope is never found!

those responsible for destroying America are those who hated God and Hate Jesus Christ to begin with. those who exploit America are the ones who come here illegal or with the deliberate intention of breaking our CHRISTIAN CONSTITUTIONAL LAWS never even recognizing our DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE which frees us from the laws ideas lifestyles social trends regulations and policies of ALL nations outside our borders forbiding leaders of other nations from influencing our way of life to begin with. that is who is at fault for this. we told you so but you only now see because its happening to you which makes one question your motives to begin with. blaming America for the problems of other nations was your first sin and blaming America for believing in Jesus Christ, actually that was your first sin and blaming US for the misery of other nations was/is your second sin. and dont you dare forget that as a nation, the United States of America is still by far the youngest and can’t take responsibility for the sins/crimes of any nation created before her. Ukraine like it or not is not a nation seperate of Russia, its landlocked so it technicslly geographically can not be its own continent and as a nation it would be questionable as to why now?. but think about it if there’s even one living brain cell in your head think about that as an example. Ukrainians have too much land to cover if they wish to “break away” but land can not decide for itself. North America is a continent, but ONLY the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is recognized as a nation strong independent FREE and blameless. youngest. if Mexico wants to consider themselves as an independent nation than tell them to go back in time and undo the results of the Alamo so that retarded mexicans never pick a fight with texans to start with which resulted by the way in the US owning ALL OF MEXICO because those retarded mexicans picked the fight with CHRISTS CHOSEN NATION!!! Israel maybe God’s chosen bride but America was chosen as God’s SON’s bride. so get your hands off you child rapist arab warlock and shut up!!!!

  • Christopher D. Quarberg

I am probably the youngest one on here. I am not surprized by alot of this and i think that one can feel the corruption around you see it everywhere you go hear it in your loved ones voices. This is a sad place now. this angers me. It is time for the REAL Christians to take a stand.

  • Christopher D. Quarberg

AND….Christians vehemently oppose sexual education for our children… FOR THE WIN! Ding! Ding! Ding!

  • josh fritz

    moral decay does not exist.
change in society over time does.
there are no universal laws of what are right and wrong.
if we can agree that everyone deserves the same rights as everyone else, and that these rights should generally extend to being free to do as they wish so long as doing these things does not hurt someone else in some way… then that is as close as we can come to universal laws of what are right and wrong.

wow… okay, some of these numbers are pretty bad. but most of these are not a new. however… violence and unmarried sex have been around for a very, very long time. as a matter of fact, if you look at the bigger picture, many of these numbers are actually going down over time.

also, im not trying to attack christianity in any way at all. but seriously? “more than half of couples move together before they get married.” this isnt the dark ages anymore. not everyone wants to be living with their parents until they marry someone.

also… this article misinterprets what morality actually is. morality is being able to tell right from wrong, its what keeps us from violating the fundamental rights of other humans. most of these are societal standards. these are expectations set by society, other people expecting us to behave a certain way even though many of the things they expect do not harm others in any way.

some people simply do not want to get married. no one has a right to tell them they have to.

and oh my god, 88% of children play video games, how terrible is that? the majority of those “gamers” are people playing angry birds on their cell phones. the vast majority of popular mobile games have no violence whatsoever. and besides, is shooting digital people hurting anyone? is it more mentally damaging than violent movies that most people have seen at some point in their lives without becoming violent, bloodthirsty killers?

abortion… i do not agree with it. i think it is up to couples to be responsible in the first place to avoid unnecessarily having to end human lives. i believe it is hypocritical to claim to be for human life and for abortion at the same time. however…
those abortion clinics selling baby parts to researchers? nope. no evidence has ever been shown of this, the source cited here seems to have no actual credibility. and no, stem cell research is NOT based off of live fetuses, it is based off of non fetus organic tissue… the same tissue that most forms of birth control are designed to disrupt. if you are against stem cell research, you would also have to be against birth control. also, stem cell based medicine is the biggest advancement in medical practices since the discovery of penicillin.

“100 years ago, 4.52 people were living in the average U.S. household, but now the average U.S. household only consists of 2.59 people.”
this matters why? there is a direct correlation between economic growth and smaller population per given area. the poorest countries in the world with the highest rates of poverty and shortest lifespans have the largest families. examples: india, china, most african countries, most middle eastern countries.
wealthy first world countries such as the US, the UK, germany, france, the netherlands and many more have, on average, much smaller families than poor third world nations.

changing the traditional definition of marriage… now this is one hornets nest i do not want to break open. im feeling brave today, so here it goes… no, homosexuality is not spreading like a disease. people who identify as such simply feel safer doing so because they dont fear being stoned to death anymore… at least not as much. two people of the same gender marrying is not hurting straight couples in any way. is allowing people of different races to marry changing the definition of marriage? no? then how is allowing people of the same gender to marry and different?

“According to the CDC, approximately 9 out of every 10 Americans that are at least 60 years old say that they have taken at least one prescription drug within the last month.”
sooo… the author of this article is against the use of asprin to treat headaches? against anti brain rot pills to treat dementia? against pain relievers to treat sore joints? or just against modern medicine in general? we should just go back to the days when we used to bash holes in peoples skulls using sharp rocks to relieve headaches. yes, that actually happened and was quite a common practice.

“America has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.”
… nope. read the article cited. it said that cocaine and marijuana were more commonly used in the US than any other country. it said NOTHING about the united states having the highest rates of illegal drug use overall. these are two drugs out of hundreds.

“The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.”
the only less credible cited source i have ever seen was a website run by the KKK. okay, that’s an exaggeration. still, they obviously pulled that figure out of thin air. question, is the average american watching easily twice that amount of TV any better? video games have been shown to, depending on genera, improve motor skills, improve spatial memory capability, improve path finding abilities, improve multi tasking abilities, and various other skills. http://mentalfloss.com/article/65008/15-surprising-benefits-playing-video-games
video games are demonized by the same people who use the Internet, cell phones and TVs on a daily basis.

“According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, 60 percent of all Americans believe that “humans and other living things have evolved over time”, while only 33 percent of respondents rejected this statement.”
… it amazes me that some people are tech savvy enough to write an online article yet reject the science that gave them the technology to do so. evolution is a scientific fact. it is my personal belief that evolution is god’s tool to create all the world filled with life that we live in today. we are all free to believe what we want, but we should not judge others for daring to believe in something different from us.

“73 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support gay marriage”
nearly as many religious people do as well. i know a dedicated christan who is bisexual. is she any less of a christan because she likes both girls and guys? either A: being something other than straight isnt some horrible curse of the devil and some ordinary people are simply born that way, or B: christanity itself is corrupted with this horrible plague, and the end is nigh upon us.

“For the first time ever, Protestants do not make up a majority of the U.S. population. In 2007, Protestants made up 53 percent of the U.S. population, but now they only make up 48 percent of the U.S. population. Way back in 1972, Protestants made up 62 percent of the U.S. population.”
catholics make up most of the rest. as a matter of fact, christianity in general is by far the most common religion in the united states. is it such a terrible thing that one group in particular no longer makes up the majority? this country was founded on freedom of religion, NOT one religion in particular.

any religion or belief is as valid as any other, no more, no less. is respecting the existence and beliefs of others too much to ask?

Morality is nothing more than people pushing their beliefs on other people. That in a nutshell is what is wrong with existing on this planet.
Morals or not we live in a world that is way overpopulated and not everyone will get along with others for all sorts of reasons. People don’t need some structured mass moral BS to treat others well and have a good life. Mans need to control others is disgusting as a whole and as history shows this will never go away, seems this is how the human animal is wired. Looking at the rate of which people die in this world and the short time we actually exist I seriously doubt being a “Moral” person even matters. In the end the brainwashed sheep of the world will continue believing in long handed down fairy tales and in things no one will ever have the true answers for and it probably wont matter one bit.

I don’t think that 93 is too wrong, Unfortunately, there are too many churches that are all about money.

Moral principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong, even if everybody is wrong. Right is right, even if nobody is right.
