40 Signs That We Have Seriously Messed Up The Next Generation Of Americans

What in the world have we done to our kids?  If you spend much time with them, you quickly realize that the next generation of Americans is woefully unprepared to deal with the real world.  They are overweight, lazy, undisciplined, disrespectful, disobedient to their parents, selfish, self-centered, and completely addicted to entertainment.  And that is just for starters.  We feed them insane amounts of sugar and high fructose corn syrup and then when they become overactive we pump them full of prescription drugs to calm them down.  Instead of raising our children ourselves, we allow the government schools and the entertainment industry to do it.  By the time they reach the age of 18, they have spent far more time with their teachers, their video games and the television than they have spent with us.  Our young people are #1 in a lot of global categories, but almost all of them are bad.  Young people in the United States are more obese than anyone else in the world, more sexually active than anyone else in the world and they become pregnant more often than anyone else in the world.  Of course it probably doesn’t help that we have the highest divorce rate in the world either.  Our families are a complete and total mess and it is our kids that are paying the price.  One top of everything else, we have accumulated a 16 trillion dollar debt which we will be handing down to the next generation.  I am sure that they will appreciate that.

The following are 40 signs that we have seriously messed up the next generation of Americans….

1. Approximately 57 percent of all children in the United States are living in homes that are either considered to be either “low income” or impoverished.

2. More than 25 percent of all U.S. children have a chronic health condition that affects their ability to learn.  Perhaps we should not be feeling them so much junk food.

3. In 2011, SAT scores for young men were the worst that they had been in 40 years.

4. The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.

5. One study discovered that 88 percent of all Americans between the ages of 8 and 18 play video games, and that approximately four times as many boys are addicted to video games as girls are.

6. According to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only 37 percent of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find the nation of Iraq on a map.

7. According to one survey, 50 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 cannot find the state of New York on a blank map.

8. Only 26 percent of Oklahoma high school students know what the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution are called.

9. Only 10 percent of Oklahoma high school students know how many justices sit on the Supreme Court.

10. At this point, 15-year-olds that attend U.S. public schools do not even rank in the top half of all industrialized nations when it comes to math or science literacy.

11. Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants than children in Europe are.

12. The United States leads the world in eating disorder deaths.

13. The average American drinks more than 600 sodas every single year.  That is by far the most in the world.

14. Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese.  Right now, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese, and it is being projected that number will rise to 42 percent by 2030.

15. In America today, many families allow the television to raise their children.  In fact, the United States is tied with the U.K. for the most hours of television watched per person each week.

16. There are more school shootings in America than anywhere else in the world.

17. The United States has the highest divorce rate on the globe by a wide margin.  This is ripping millions of families with children to shreds.

18. Without solid family units, more kids than ever are joining gangs.  Today, there are approximately 1.4 million gang members living inside the United States.  That number has risen by 40 percent just since 2009.

19. There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.

20. If you can believe it, an average of five children die as a result of child abuse in the United States every single day.

21. Sadly, the United States actually has the highest child abuse death rate on the entire globe.

22. Approximately 20 percent of all child sexual abuse victims are under the age of 8.

23. In the United States today, it is estimated that one out of every four girls is sexually abused before they become adults.

24. According to researchers, convicted rapists in the United States report that two-thirds of their victims were under 18, and among those cases 58% said that their victims were 12 years old or younger.

25. The percentage of children living in poverty has risen from 17 percent in 2007 to 22 percent today.

26. Today, one out of every four American children is on food stamps.

27. It is being projected that approximately 50 percent of all U.S. children will be on food stamps at some point in their lives before they reach the age of 18.

28. As I have written about previously, approximately 42 percent of all single mothers in the United States are on food stamps.

29. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 36.4 percent of all children that live in Philadelphia are living in poverty, 40.1 percent of all children that live in Atlanta are living in poverty, 52.6 percent of all children that live in Cleveland are living in poverty and 53.6 percent of all children that live in Detroit are living in poverty.

30. It is estimated that up to half a million children may currently be homeless in the United States.

31. It is estimated that child homelessness in the United States has risen by 33 percent since 2007.

32. Right now, approximately 25 million American adults are living with their parents.

33. Law enforcement officials estimate that about 600,000 Americans and about 65,000 Canadians are trading dirty child pictures online.

34. The average high school boy spends two hours watching pornography every single week.

35. An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic now goes to pornography websites, and the U.S. produces more pornography than any other nation has in the history of the world.

36. In the United States today, 47 percent of all high school students have had sex.

37. One out of every four teen girls in the United States now has an STD.

38. The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate on the entire planet by a wide margin.

39. One survey found that one out of every five teen girls actually wants to be a teen mom.

40. We have borrowed 16 trillion dollars that we expect future generations to repay.  We have consigned our children and our grandchildren to a lifetime of debt slavery and they don’t even realize it yet.  When they do realize what we have done to them they will probably curse us bitterly.

The second point literally shocked me.

  • k

The sodas (not all but the dark cola drinks like coke and pepsi) mess up sleep. So children should avoid them atleast at night. I faced that problem once. So i can only imagine how much more effect it can have on children.

  • k

Reading the third and fourth points gave me an idea. The third point says that SAT scored are falling and the fourth point says that kids are playing video games a lot. So my idea is why not make video games which help kids can learn their subjects.

math, science based video games should be developed.

    • Nunya

Because those video games would *******************, nobody wants to play educational video games.

      • k

hardcore video gamers..no, but some kids play light games like angry birds and stuff. For them, developing these kind of games is worth a shot.

Curse ‘us’ bitterly is an under statement. That ‘us’ by the way will be the American Baby Boomer Generation. The generation that endlessly complied with all the corruption and tyrannical policies, and they will be viewed on top of that as the most selfish and wasteful generation in history.

By the time the Baby Boomer Generation will have died off, they will have consumed half the world’s energy supply (that is of course based off the Peak Oil/Fossil Fuel Theory not Abiotic Theory), created the largest debt the world has ever seen, fought end less undeclared wars for resources and exploitation that killed tens of millions of people and established over 700 foreign US military bases, and all for Social Security, Medi-care, and government Pensions! (*The quote by Sam Adams at the end is for you people!)

You people that still believe in our corrupt system/government are clearly stupid or clearly benefit from the system in some way!

“The few who could understand the system will either be so interested in its profits, or so dependent on its favors, that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of the people mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.”
John Sherman (American Rothschild agent, in support of the National Banking Act, 1863)

I can account first hand as a public school teacher for a few years that what Michael is citing is true. Our students are increasingly getting dumber, and most of it is because of the content that is taught and no critical thinking is applied.

Basically, public schools give you a bunch of information and just ask you to regurgitate it. They don’t ask you to apply that information in almost anyway except to be able to identify it on some sort of multiple choice test or fill in the blank worksheet with a word bank. Our schools have no concept of a classical education anymore.

A classical education is simply based on 3 simple steps.

Grammar: introduction to the material and vocabulary
Logic: apply the information you’ve learned and critically think about it.
Rhetoric: form your own conclusion based on logic and reason through applied objective evidence

Not to mention our high school students can barely write in sentences anymore. I’ll be the first to admit, I am no expert on proper English grammatical structure. However, our youth today can not write even a paragraph in complete sentences. Most of it will be written as if it were a text on a cell phone or in bullet points.

I hope what I saw in the school I worked at isn’t true everywhere. However, the more I look into public education the more I realize it is one of the biggest part of our problem. I believe the root is with the Rockefeller founded General Education Board. These people have turned our students from young thinkers/scholars to young complying workers. A cog for the machine.

Please people start to think for yourselves.

In closing, some advice from one of my favorite philosophers Voltaire:

“Is there anyone so wise as to learn by the experience of others?”
    Voltaire

“Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so, too.”
    Voltaire

“Stand upright, speak thy thoughts, declare The truth thou hast, that all may share; Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare.”
    Voltaire

“Man is free at the moment he wishes to be.”

    Fortune Favors the Brave:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”
    Sam Adams

Of all your articles, Michael, this one is the most soul wrenching!

As a grandmother of eight from ages 14 – 26 I can definitely agree to each and every point.

I would say that three out of the eight are not in your 40 point analysis. Two out of the three, home schooled, limited TV and electronic games, TV not turned to ABC, NBC, or CBS unless parents are present, and when content is disgusting, they turn to another channel.

One of the three grandchildren attends a Christian school and has the same lifestyle as the two mentioned above. Movies are out unless content is decent. AND all of the four mentioned in my comment GO TO CHURCH WITH THEIR PARENTS!

The remaining four grandchildren fit at least 10 out of your 40 categories I am most sorry to say.

It is the PARENTS that are responsible in every case. And, once they get on the downhill spiral, there is no stopping them…I know, I’ve had many heartbreaking reports phone calls at night, etc.

    • Michael

Great comment – it is so sad to see how our kids are turning out today. If parents were more involved it would make a huge difference.

      Michael

    • Nunya

The grandchildren that are home schooled, aren’t allowed to watch tv, and are forced to go to church sound like real losers to me. Wait until they aren’t under the care of their parents and see what happens. The real world will eat them alive tbh.

      • Repentant

Having been a Pastor for many years I can say without a doubt that you are totally mistaken. The parents that have raised their children in home school, limited TV and taking them to Church now have young adults that are stable and well rounded and causing their parents no problems whatsoever. On the flip side; Those parents which mocked and scorned them and made such statements as you just made are having a nightmare of a problem with their children. Drugs, alcohol, promiscuity just to name a few of the problems. Children who are raised with a worldly mindset are destined to be eaten alive by that same world. Children raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, (consistently for their whole childhood), stand a much better chance of not being destroyed by the world and its evil because they have been taught not to fall for it. The only “real losers” are those that die without Jesus as their Lord. Thank God for those parents who wisely bring their children out of the world and into the true CHurch That Jesus built and died for. That is the mark of true love.

      • kaiserin

Nunya, when it’s your kids you might think a little differently. I was a “worldly” kid, very cool and my life was a living hell. I’ve had all the problems, drug abuse, failed marriage, etc., and it’s because my selfish parents basically threw me out there and let me fend for myself. Religion was mocked as “stupidity”, morality was just a joke and I saw my mother (yes I have divorced parents, what a surprise) lie and cheat to get whatever she wanted. Both of my parents NEVER put me first, and of course they were shocked, simply SHOCKED, that their kid was a smoking pot head runaway at age 16. Their first thought was how embarrassed they would be once their friends heard about it, they never gave a crap about me and still don’t. So now at 30, I have nothing to do with them. At 30, I have to deal with my stupid mistakes and it’s a struggle to even look into the mirror. I feel 130 years old and I probably look it too. I have zero self esteem, and I also have RA, probably from years of drug abuse and smoking. Needless to say, my children will NOT be raised like I was. Anyone who sends their kids to public schools (I could write a book about the horrors I endured there, despite my public school system always being in the top 3 in the country), and otherwise allows their children to be part of this sick society is just begging for trouble. You can stick your head in the sand all you’d like but it is what it is. I’d rather my kids be terminally uncool nerds than be anything like me and I hope they’ll understand why when they hear my story.

        • M.

Did you actually abuse drugs or did you just smoke pot for a while? Smoking pot doesn’t cause RA, it’s actually used in a lot of RA patients as medicine.. I have a lot of friends who were sheltered in their youth and DID go on to abuse drugs (actual drugs, ones that cause addiction and have devastating effects on their users) as adults when they were no longer under the watch of their parents.. but smoking pot was the least of any of our parents’ worries..

  • marK

When the internet was just starting and people were trying to figure out how to make money on it porn was the biggest money maker for many years. We are a sick world and I could not think of a more disgusting habit than porn. Porn has ruined many lives and families. So sad.

    • Nunya

How has it ruined lives and families? It’s not like it’s anything new, porn dates back all the way back to “nude” cave painting.

  • Gary2

Tax the rich and spread the wealth. Not acceptable to have such high child poverty in this rich country. Simply take the rich *********** money and give to the poor.

    • Louise in MO

      GARY2

I’m disappointed to read that even in this article you have twisted the truths sited to blame it on the rich.

Let me ask you,Gary2, what have you done to help the poor children in your community? Have you given anything to those groups whose sole purpose is to help poor children? I would bet you haven’t. You are all talk and no action!

There where dozens of truths sited in Michael’s article; you ignore these. Poverty can be overcome; moral corruption all around our children in every bit of our society cannot so easily be overcome.

The filth they see on TV, the violence in video games, the pornography, particularly child pornography and the other points made in this article cannot be easily overcome because it has weaved its way into the fabric of our once Godly nation.

Trust me, Gary2, taxing the rich won’t do anything to change what is going on in our children’s lives. It may give them a little more food and some new clothes. But it won’t do a damn bit of good if they look better and have fuller stomachs and then walk out into a morally-bankrupted nation full of people that would love to make them part of a porn flick!

Your philosophy is simply naive and without merit!

      • Gary2

If we were not in a conservative funnel the wealth to the top parents would not have to work multiple jobs and could spenmd more time raising their kids.

I am sickened by the family values repube party who do not support equal pay for women, taxing the rich and spreading the welath and universal preschool for kids. These scum bag MF also cut programs like WIC that help the poor in order to give more tax cuts to the already undertaxed rich and corporations..

These problems are a direct result of the sickening immoral conservative policies.

I consider Obama to be a moderate republican and in no way a progressive. The fact that the tea baggers say he is a socialist simply shows how far the tea party is too the right, and their low intelligence and low information hate radio thinking (if they can think)

        • ParttimeOptimist

Gary, you cited the fact that lower income families must have both parents working in order to make it in this world. Why do you think that is? The constant devaluation of the dollar and artificially inflated wages are why. Both of these principles are a direct result of liberal ideology. True capitalism has not existed in this country for over 100 years. Capitalism doesn’t “funnel the wealth to the top” it gives everyone an equal opportunity at said wealth. It is not capitalism that creates what liberals like to describe as the gap between the rich and the poor, it is when government becomes involved, no matter the humanitarian reason, that these gaps become possible because without government intervention, there will always be someone who is willing to make the sacrifices necessary to get their own slice of the American Dream.

    • k

gary, there are many honest guys among rich too. So deliberately taxing them isnt proper. But some industrialists lobbied govts already severely in debt, for tax breaks with the promise of creating jobs, but did not. Tax breaks can be revoked for those.

Taxing isnt the same as revoking unnecessary tax breaks.

      • Gary2

I am sure there are 1-2 honest rich, however, the vast majority 95% are selfish narssists and are border line psychotic and they got rich by exploiting others. Apple is rich as they exploit Chinia workers and there are many more examples.

  • Gary2

Here is the question>>>What would pontious pilot do? Do you think he knew how to pilot an airplane??
    *******************************************

    • Mal R

LMAO! What the hell are you talking about? You seriously need to cut down on the meds because they’re making you drooling stupid.

      • Gary2

mal–if you LMAO then you are now a lot smaller. Did you also laugh your teeth gone???

    • Mal R

I get it now! Pontius Pilot – can he pilot. Umkay sparky, just one lil problem. It’s Pontius Pilate. DOLT!

      • Rodster

        LMAO

        • Gary2

          I was making a joke–Obviously I succeeded.

I think pontious pilot was a conservative. Just like today’s conservatives believe that cutting taxes increasses revenue (vodoo economics) old pontious thought that by washing his hands he would not be responsible for Jesus’s death.

    • 1stVArifleman

That is not his name. You are refering to Pontinus Pilatus. This is his true Roman/Latin name. Pontinus Pilate is an English translation of his name. Just as Marc Antony is an English translation of Marcus Antonius.

Our oligarchs spend hundreds of billions of dollars every year on propaganda getting them to act this way. Our TV, internet, etc. advertisements are simply our “capitalist” version of Soviet propaganda posters. Positive messages have to be outnumbered at least 100 to 1.

  • James

Sad indeed but before blaming the parents, some of you need an education on the subject. Having 2 kids myself, they are VERY different from each other and are basically the same person they were when they were one day old. Most kids are born the way they are. Yes, parents can steer kids one way or the other but they are going to be who they are made, its really just that simple.

One of my kids smokes dope, is rude and demanding and is an ungreatful little ba$tard for the most part, etc… The other is a sweet and gengle angel that does 99% of what we ask of them.

Again, born that way, and YES, we have done EVERYTHING humanly possible to try to get the “bad” one back on the right track again with little success. Again, the way they are born so if you parents who have “good” kids you better thank your lucky stars because in my opinion, you had little to do with it.

    • OldPhart OutIn TheDesert

I have two boys. Today they are 33 and 24.

My oldest, in High School, managed to get straight F’s for a semester. Even in PE! My wife and I were unaware of anything until we went to the school to get a report card (apparently ‘lost in the mail’).

We were called any day that our kid missed school by 10 AM. We NEVER got a call that our kid was failing.

Our oldest had lied to us and had covered his tracks, so to speak, because we believed in him. It was a terrible betrayal.

We became, forgive me Michael, asshole parents. We were on his butt everyday. I spent the day in School with him, going to every class, making sure that he attended as he should and checking with his teachers. I found out that he was failing because he wasn’t handing in his homework for each class.

When we got home I confronted him and he started digging out all the missing homework from his backpack. It was the ultimate stupidity. He did the work but didn’t hand it in.

We sent back to the High School and gave them hel over calling us when they weren’t in school but not a word when they were doing poorly. The school said that ‘most parents don’t care’. We weren’t ‘most parents’ as defined by the school. We wanted toknow what he had to do to make up the semester that would allow him to graduate. It tuned out that he had to take a lot of classes, some starting at 5 AM and the others ending at 9 PM, to make up what he had failed. We committed his ass to work! He was so ashamed of himself that he did every bit of it and graduated as he should.

Today, he’s the guy that rebuilt the entire communcations infrastructure for Iraq and Afghanistan. He’s on his tenth year in Afghanistan as some sort of DOD position that we still don’t know much about…other than he’s been blown up twice.

Our younger kid got himself suspended in kindergarten for pulling the fire alarm. It just ‘caught his finger’ as he was lined up for something. Eight years later he was elected the middle school valedictorian by the teachers and students. With the same principal that had him suspended. WE ahd no problems with him other than another kid with the same name would go up and get his academic awards. He thought that was hilarious.

He’s an Eagle Scout, working at Disneyland as a life guard and has a second job in the evenings. He lives in a truck in a WalMart parking lot and thinks it’s the greatest adventure of his life.

Mr. James, Parents ARE to blame for both failures and successes for their kids until they hit legal age.

You spared the rod and spoiled the child. And claim to have no involvement in the output. I beg to differ. I suspect that you expected the schools to educate your evil kid and teach him right from wrong. I believe that you thought that teachers knew what they were doing, that they had your son’s best interests at heart.

You were flatassed WRONG and can’t bring yourself to realize it. Your Oldest is a POS because that is what you made of him due to non-involvement and indifference. Your focus was on the good kid and you let the bad kid run wild because that was his nature, he was ‘born that way’. Bullshit!

You are one of millions of failed parents from the 90′s.

    JAMES

I have always said that every person in a prison was once someone’s baby. And, it sounds as if you did your best and he/she became what you described.

Your experience gives some credence to what Michael writes about. After a child walks out your door in the morning he is fair game for the crazies in this country. It would appear by your post that one took the wrong turn and one chose the right path.

I’m sorry that you did your best and the outcome wasn’t what you hoped for. AA has a portion in their writings that reads in part people who don’t make it in their program cannot grasp the truth; they are to be pitied because they seem to have been born that way.”

I will definitely add your wayward child to my prayer list.

  • Rodster

Michael, sign #41. We have taken a god fearing nation and turned them into a secular society.

I’m no bible thumper but I’d bet a good share of those problems you listed is a result of stripping God out of peoples lives over the last 30-40 years, unless you’re Muslim and then it’s OK. :)

  • SMASH THE CONTROL MACHINE

THE KIDS AREN’T ALRIGHT !!!When we were young the future was so bright
The old neighborhood was so alive
And every kid on the whole damn street
Was gonna make it big and not be beat

Now the neighborhood’s cracked and torn
The kids are grown up but their lives are worn
    How can one little street
    Swallow so many lives

    [Chorus]
    Chances thrown
    Nothing’s free
Longing for what used to be
    Still it’s hard
    Hard to see
    Fragile lives, shattered dreams

Jamie had a chance, well she really did
Instead she dropped out and had a couple of kids
Mark still lives at home cause he’s got no job
He just plays guitar and smokes a lot of pot

    Jay committed suicide
    Brandon OD’d and died
What the hell is going on
    The cruelest dream, reality

    • M.

I’m 20 and I can’t tell you how accurate these lyrics depict my life and the lives of my peers. Most of my friends live at home, are unemployed, and smoke a lot of pot. I have multiple friends who have committed or attempted suicide and multiple friends who have OD’d and died on drugs. Most of my friends use or have used some kind of dangerous illegal drug (heroin, cocaine, crystal meth, pharmaceutical opiates, etc). I can count on one hand the number of friends I’ve had who are actually succeeding in life without some kind of major problem like these. The sad part is I’ve known most of these people since we were in elementary school and we all used to be so bright eyed and had so much potential. Now (the ones of us who are alive) are all depressed and can’t cope with society. And we don’t understand where everything went wrong.

Red states consume way more porn that the blue states. How is the Christian family values thing working out???

    • Another Richard

You are a Fool. Christian values and Christian living is an individual and family thing – Not a State thing.

You might want to be careful when citing statistics & using them to compare to “the rest of the world”. You need to keep in mind that many nations of the world, most notably muslim countries & corrupt 3rd world nations like those in the Caribbean, DON’T PROPERLY RECORD their rape/violence/assault against women etc rate.

Many don’t even report it due to fear of punishment of the victim. Saudi Arabia & Pakistan for example don’t rank as better places for women’s safety nor do they have a lower child abuse or women abuse rate, please.

And lower divorce rate does not necessarily mean better families. Muslims often have lower divorce rates even in non-muslim nations because the women are brainwashed into staying (even by other so-called women in their religion) & Muslim families are filled with problems. Don’t be fooled that an intact marriage = happiness & functionality. Muslim & Hindu families are the most dysfunctional I know, & when they come to the West it shows. Right now, most of the rape & crime against women & even children are committed by Muslim men in Europe.

At least the US has freedom of choice & any problems can be fixed. When you’re a zombie religious fanatic it’s hard to go back, it spreads alarmingly fast & there is no freedom to choose. And kids in other nations are corrupted by other factors such as religion, which leads to a more serious set of problems. Not really different from being zombiefied by video games & porn. Oh, muslims tend to have a serious psychosexual dysfunction with women too, & also love the porn. Muslim kids aren’t exactly the epitome of knowledge & logical reasoning either. It just isn’t publicly discussed. SO this really isn’t a fair comparison.

Like I said, not everyone reports & is even AWARE of their problems. And Muslims deny their society is anything but perfect. The US isn’t that badly off.

    And weight can be lost.

I am very active with the Boy Scouts of America.

I personally can attest that there are a large number of young people that have little, or no, interest in the well being of others. That said, I can also say that there is significant hope in the youth that go through the Scouting program. (Yes, I know, Gary2, that some make the Gay issue a stopping point but that will change over time)

I’ve been involved all the way up to District Commissioner and have witnessed fundamental changes, not only in the boys, but in their families. I’ve seen dads that hsve served time in federal prison camp with federal judges. I’ve seen entire families evolve under Scouting.

There are a lot of youth that fit this article, but I KNOW from personal interaction, that there are a quiet number of youth that do not fit the profile. And these are kids that face all the modern dangers of today.

To me, there is nothing sweeter than being in some fast food restaurant and having twenty boys come up to greet me and my wife by name.

Get involved in Scouting. Get your kids involved with Scouting. It’s the best prepping you can do.

    A Grim Portrait

I see a future painted with disgrace
By generations that came before us
Shamed with knowledge of not protecting
The very sustenance of humanity to come

Their bones will ache, not from labour
But a by product of mere survival
They are bequeathed a drained, lifeless orb
The thought shames me, and brings me to curse
    Those who walked before me

    Only thinking in the now,
    Consideration for the after
Holds no priority over their heads
What words of detest, from those yet to come
Will forever haunt our souls conscience

Indeed, the artists have painted a grim portrait
Of a lifeless world, that abounds with misery and sorrow
The only fruits it will produce
Will be like acid upon their tongues
Resentment flourishes, in this garden of desolation

My spirit, ill with heart crushing guilt
Not for what we have done
But for what we neglected to do
    My soul shall weep eternally

For the innocence of youth, not yet upon the earth

After I graduate from college (debt free mind you), I’ll be moving to Russia.

    Adios bitchez.

You’d do well if you have children and no debt tying you down, to move to a better country besides America. And don’t let blind ‘patriotism’ for your country stop you from moving. Give your kids a better life. They won’t find it here (and perhaps not in Russia either. I’m going there cause of the need for professional Russian/English translators.)

    Good countries for education.
Austrailia, New Zealand, Denmark, South Korea, Finland, Norway.

I always thought to myself how christians were funny people, why would god bless such a schitzophrenic nation, that leads in bastard children, running fathers, single mothers AND abortions.

I believe we are in the beginning of a moral collapse, the likes the world has never seen.

As a good, eligible american male, trying to find a woman that has not been divorced, who does not have babies daddies, who is not obese, entitlement minded, arrogant and materialistic is next to impossible.

We are a land of child mothers, bastard children, running fathers, wanna be gangsters and bankers, all of whom for some reason are famous for nothing, who’s id and ego are so out of wack with what their actual self worth and accomplishments are, these people are literally laughable.

Maybe our wars on everything and their mother in this country, wouldnt have been started if we declared the first war all human beings should claim, and that is a war on our own id and ego’s.

    When I realized I wasnt a perfect snowflake,I became a snowman.

Hey kid,you had it hard in life,so many others around you had it “easy.”So what, giving up is a choice….Real men after a while have to pick themselves up and dust themselves off….real men get knocked down, often at times. Its who gets up quickest and most often that wins.Never give up….so you had it hard…boo hoo hoo Giving up is a choice.

Even if you are young and the place you are at in life is because of others, friends and family…so what…your of age….this is your life…this is your fight now…..You are where you are because of your situation you were brought up in life…Well now your an adult…..you can continue being a child affected by others…..or you can make your own way and play the hand of cards you were dealt with the best you can.

If you have been given a bad hand of cards, dont fold, put on your poker face and fake it like everyone else does.

Never give up…fight fight fight!Today is your day of liberation.Today is the day you take your life into your own hands.

Future??? This just shows how messed up we ALREADY are! We don’t even see that the PAST several generations have been screwed up-how do you think we’ve gotten to this point now? Didn’t happen overnight!!!

  • somewhat po’ed 17 year old

Geuss what all our problems have grown from one simple obvious problem stupidity and nothing more, or more simply put stupid people do stupid things which in turn prompts stupider to do stupider things like a feedback loop in a sound system only in this case our entire society and all its logical fallacies represent that horrible screaching sound you hear(ie. I’m saying we live in a society of idiots leading idiots down paths of ill founded thought thus furthering the ill founded thought process). Just my opinion keep in mind though its probably based on a much broader view than your.

    God help us.

Society doesn’t have to be messed up. Ever see the movie Logan’s Run? If not, I suggest you make yourself watch it all the way through. Also, watch Silent Running.

The government works diligently to keep us all trapped in a large bubble. It’s a love/hate relationship. We are compelled to love all the things it provides, while hating the provider. We choose to live this way. And we constantly hear talk like “people need to ban together….”

But seriously. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you feed the troll. Living like a consumer is where you go wrong. You need to get outside the bubble. I am sure you have heard about going “Off The Grid”. There is a ton of great information about that, as well as limited or bad information. Throw in disinformation as well.

But it ultimately means stop living like consumers. Get rid of the power companies who we no longer need in our life. Let them fuel the companies and let THEM pay for it since they hog up all our resources that come because of government. but when we live off the grid, we change our lifestyle completely. Candles, Alladin lamps, solar panels, sunlight. As well, get rid of the water company who pumps unlimited dirty water to your house. You can get better water from the rainwater that is easily caught on the roof and stored. Fresnel lenses and wood can cook your food.

And just imagine the chunk of resources that are going into creating an energy dependency from our government while poisoning the environment. They hate YOU. They just want everything you have while destroying the Earth.

It’s high time we separate ourselves from them so they can DIE A SLOW DEATH AND VANISH.

A world without our government is as close to perfect as it gets. And once again, small communities have smaller local governments that rely on the people, not large donations from rich assholes.

Check out self-sufficient homes. You can generate your own electricity with renewable resources by using solar panels or windmills, you can install geothermal heating (which actually works as both a heating system in the winter and a cooling system in the summer). There are entire filtration systems that could be installed near your home to collect and purify rain water or you could just build near a well. Grow your own crops and house your own animals for food. I mean you could do without all those things but I’m just saying for people that dont want to lose the comfort of their grid powered homes, there are options.

  • iggy

I completely agree with you, from start to finish. People were wayyy better off in groups of small communities than bunched together in big cities. Its ironic how in the city people live so close together yet they couldnt be farther apart.
