The U.S. military has officially banned the gospel of Jesus Christ. As crazy as that sounds, it is actually true. In a written statement, the Pentagon told Fox News that "religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense" and that "court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the outcome in specific cases". And a consultant that has been brought in to help the Pentagon develop new policies on religious tolerance says that sharing the gospel with someone else is like "rape" and that he would like to see "hundreds of prosecutions to stop this outrage". Could you imagine being fined $250 every time you have your friends come over to watch football? Could you imagine having the government authorities take you to court over a Friday night card game? Well, down in Venice, Florida authorities are cracking down on Shane and Marlen Roessiger for holding a Bible study in their home on Friday nights. The meetings consist of at most 10 people gathering for a time of prayer and Bible study, but authorities in Venice insist that this is a "zoning violation" and Shane and Marlen Roessiger are being threatened with a fine of $250 per meeting. Sadly, this is not the first time something like this has happened. The truth is that authorities all over America are seeking to suppress home Bible studies and other expressions of the Christian faith.  On April 3rd, 1965 legendary radio host Paul Harvey issued a warning to America. In this warning, he detailed what he thought the devil should do if the devil wanted to keep destroying the United States. Sadly, the truth is that most of this stuff has come to pass. If I were the Devil . . . I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness. I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree, so I should set about however necessary to take over the United States.
I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.” “Do as you please.”
To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”.

Probably like most of you, our family spent this past July 4th celebrating the official birthday of the United States of America’s Independence. We were fortunate enough to go on a friend’s boat on Lake Michigan in Chicago to watch an amazing fireworks display. Unlike previous years, Chicago did not host this celebration. Similar too many other cities across the nation, Chicago cancelled their fireworks due to being financially broke.
As we watched the celebration and listened to patriotic music playing in the background, I found myself covered in goose bumps. I looked at my children, as they oohed and aahed, wondering if they understood the unique greatness of this country and how God has blessed it so. And, more importantly, if we fail to educate them on how we gained the freedom we celebrate every year, will it one day be no more?

 The U.S. Supreme Court has just issued a decision which is going to further push Christian groups on college campuses into the background. In a 5 to 4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that a state law school can refuse to recognize a Christian student group that "discriminates" against gay students and other non-Christians. While this decision is not going to change that much in the short-term, the truth is that it sets the stage for some earth-shattering legal decisions in the future. For example, the Supreme Court could use the same reasoning to rule that any church that "discriminates" against homosexuals should not receive an income tax exemption because it does not comply with anti-discrimination laws. Also, localities across the country could decide to start refusing to give building permits to churches because they openly "discriminate" again homosexuals and it looks like the U.S. Supreme Court is going to back them up. The truth is that the implications of this decision are absolutely staggering.
So exactly what were the facts of this case?
Well, this case had originally been brought by the Christian Legal Society at the University of California-Hastings College of Law.

 For decades, the United States has been thought of as a "Christian nation" around the globe. But today that is dramatically changing - especially among America's young people. The truth is that all of the recent polls tell us that Americans under 30 years of age are rejecting the Christian faith in unprecedented numbers. In fact, what the numbers reveal is not a slow move away from the Christian faith. Rather, they clearly portray a massive wave of young Americans running away from traditional Christianity as fast as they can.
For example, a shocking new survey by LifeWay Christian Resources shows that the vast majority of young adults in America today do not go to church, do not pray and do not read the Bible.
Just consider a few of the results from this incredibly troubling survey of 18 to 29 year old Americans....
•65% rarely or never pray with others, and 38% almost never pray by themselves either.
•65% rarely or never attend worship services of any kind.

 Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy has completely banned the words "Merry Christmas" from its advertising, but it apparently has absolutely no problem at all running a national ad which wishes their customers a "Happy Eid al-Adha" - an important Muslim holiday. A full size picture of this stunning advertisement is posted below. The message wishing their customers a "Happy Eid al-Adha" is circled in red in the lower left hand corner. This advertising circular was reportedly included in Sunday newspapers throughout the United States - including the Seattle Times. This truth is that Best Buy has been caught red-handed in a blatant form of politically-correct hypocrisy.
So just what is Eid al-Adha?
Well, Wikipedia defines the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha in this manner....
"Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" is a holiday celebrated by Muslims (including the Druze) worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God.
So Best Buy has no problem openly wish Muslims a Happy Eid al-Adha when they have been at the forefront of the war on Christmas?
