Is This A Photo Of A Real Angel At A Christian Event In Cedar Falls, Iowa?

Angel at Promise Keepers Event in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Sometimes our cameras can see what human eyes cannot.  Could what you are looking at actually be a photo of a real angel?  At a recent Promise Keepers conference in Cedar Falls, Iowa a Baptist pastor took two photographs of the stage during a time of praise and worship.  Both of those photos show “a radiant, glowing white figure” that was not supposed to be there and that could not be seen with the naked eye.  At the time these photos were taken, the band on the stage was singing these words: “Jesus, take all of me. I run to you, I run to you. I lay everything at your feet. Let my life be yours.”  Could it be possible that the camera picked up an angel that was standing on the stage during that time of praise and worship?  Could this picture actually be physical evidence that angels really exist?  Or could this phenomenon have been caused by something else?  You have to admit that the image in this photograph is pretty compelling.  Here is a closer look at the photo…

Angel On Stage

On their Facebook page, the Promise Keepers organization has stated that they believe that “something SUPERNATURAL” definitely happened…

Something SUPERNATURAL took place in Cedar Falls today. As hundreds of men repented of sin in their lives, a man in attendance took two pictures. Both had an angel on them. As the worship band said “Jesus take all of me,” God sent a miraculous sign to confirm what He was doing.

At the time when this photograph was taken, the men at the conference were repenting of sins such as pornography and adultery.  And throughout history, repentance has always been at the heart of every great move of God.  So it would not be surprising to see God move during a time of truly heartfelt repentance.

There is always the possibility that photos such as these could have been altered in some way.  In fact, many will undoubtedly use that line of reasoning to dismiss these photographs completely.

But the wife of the pastor that took these photos says that they were not altered in any way.  She released a statement in which she said the following…

“My husband took these photos. No photo shop. Enjoy debating angels and stage lights but don’t miss the miracle of a few thousand men gathering to praise God and to be challenged to be men of honor who keep their promises! At least 17 of them were our guys. That’s a miracle. They were in our church Sunday gathering at the front praying with their families and friends. Miracles happen.”

On Facebook, the following is what the pastor himself said about these photos…

I took the pics. I did not see it until I looked at my gallery. I asked two friends if they saw anything… any lights on the stage. They said “no” and I snapped another with the same “light” in it. I took my tablet to the stage at the next break and showed the worship team. I told them they might have more “singers” with them than they knew! We laughed and rejoiced and they took me to the PK program director.

And in the Scriptures, angels are described as “a flaming fire”, so it would seem that these photos are consistent with that description.  The following are the first four verses of Psalm 104

Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire

All of this reminds me of another incident that a Christian minister named Bruce D. Allen experienced.  During a service in Malaysia, he witnessed an angel standing in the church, and a photo taken by someone attending the service actually captured part of the heavenly Torah scroll that the angel was carrying…

“On this night in May in Malaysia, this angel was standing in the church and what looked like a large Torah Scroll was in actuality a heavenly manifest. The spirit of prophecy came upon me as I was witnessing this vision and I began to prophecy to that church and that region that the Lord was about to release the resources of heaven to a faithful people and a great awakening was about to begin in that part of the world.

Some of those in attendance were taking photos during the sessions and what was caught on the digital media defies explanation – except it was exactly what I was seeing in the spirit. A large scroll can be seen from the perspective of where the angel would have been standing – as if he were holding the scroll and taking the picture”

Posted below is a blown up image of the portion of the photo containing the heavenly Torah scroll.  As you can see, it even appears to have Hebrew writing on it…

Of course there will always be doubters and skeptics.

Over the years, I have found that most people end up believing exactly what they want to believe.

If someone out there is absolutely determined to believe that supernatural events do not exist, then a hundred more stories just like this will not persuade that person.

Personally, I am fully convinced that the God who created all things is still doing supernatural things today just like He always has been.

So what do you think?  Please feel free to share your opinion by posting a comment below…

    Ugh :-(((

Supernatural events do exist. But are they ALL from God? The bible says satan keeps transforming himself into an angel of light, it’s no wonder his agents also transform themselves into angles of righteousness.

So yes, supernatural events do happen. On the other hand, the bible also says that God leads his people by spirit, not by what is seen with the eyes– so I doubt this stuff as being anything anyone should attribute to God without checking it diligently against his word.

Don’t follow everything u see or hear as being from God, but by his word the bible, all things will be tested whether they are true and will be exposed.

    This could be very dangerous.

First off as a Christian, I would like it to be an angel, but it most likely is not. Your caution on this is quite wise. First clue, notice all the lights have beams, a sign of mist, fog or perhaps smoke in the air. The presence of such, can cause some strange reflections Second, what appears to be upright is not. The light is traveling across the stage, and then reflecting off the bandstand. Notice the bandstand is slightly elevated, and the light is slightly brighter on the reflective front of the bandstand.Third what appears to be the top half of the angel, is actually a bright reflection off something on the bandstand. Fourth, where did such a bright light come from? Front row, man with a camera in his hand, most likely just took a flash photo. I was not going to comment, because I can not be 100% sure. But your caution impressed me, so I had to post my analysis.

I like your post. It is logical and well thought out, I deal well with logic and facts, which is why I love these blogs. Micheal deals accurately with the facts and presents them in a straight forward, easy to understand way. This post is sort of a departure from his usual articles . There really is no way to know exactly what it is on that stage, if it is some metamerism, shadow, light, could even be a demon, could be nothing. But really, is it an angel? Well, not in my understanding of how righteous angels operate and interact with humans according to historic biblical narrative. There are a few biblical examples to look to, and this one doesn’t really match up but that my opinion on an opinion.

Bible have genocides comitted by the righteous and was written by humans, not exactly an infallible source either.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares, Hebrews 13:2 (kjv).

This is the first verse I thought about when I saw this pic. I agree with you Kim in regards to making sure we test all spirits to make sure they are from God but based on what I read in Hebrews as well as what this concert was about, if it was a supernatural being it would be an angel.

Since they were singing praises to Jesus and repenting of their sins, I doubt satan or his minions would be interested in attending. Hebrews 13:2, although this verse is giving a different context than what we are witnessing in the pic, I do believe that our Lord will send an angel or angels here to earth so they can also sing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I looked at the 3 lights in the back. Those lights seem to be the same color as the figure on stage but I looked at the surrounding area and I don’t see anything that those 3 red lights can reflect off of. Also considering it seems to be broad daylight also makes it seem unlikely for there to be a reflection that just so happens to appear on stage with the performers.

It still may just be a reflection, but based on God’s word and the type of performance they were giving, I doubt it.

Ok I never comment on these sites but having a personnel experience with this issue I feel I should comment. First I am a Christian and i do believe the photos are real and an Angle of The Lord was caught In the photo. I can understand folks being skeptical about these occurrences and I would be also, but having taken photos and picking up demons and angles in them I believe they are real and confirm our faith. Why would my photos have demons and angles you might ask? Let me explain several years ago I lost my son to lukemia in dealing with this stressful situation, questioning God etc… I believe satans minions
may have thought there was a weakness in my faith. Since 2010 I have inadvertently caught demons in many photos ranging from little boy to animal like figures not seen by the eye just in photos. In one photo I did pick up a photo of an angle pointing to a demonic figure. My personal belief is this is a real occurance it happens more than you think we are being watched by both sides it’s just that with new technology computers & digital cameras we are able to pick up on the spiritual side interacting or just watching us in our daily lives.

      • Armel

thank you for sharing that, it’s an interesting sentiment! and I agree…I think there are many things that camera lenses pick up that may be unexplainable–based on the laws of physics that we understand at this current moment in time. It’s awesome to consider the possibilities of what we don’t understand…things we can’t quite explain because we just don’t have that kind of knowledge available to us right now.

      • Natalia

Amazing share of your personal experience. I am sorry for what you went thru. I know things happen that we cant understand and as a parent I can’t imagine how you dealt with that. However when you mentioned how Satan’s minions were playing on this weakness ,it took me to the book of Job in the Bible. I feel your relentlessness to never give up your walk with God will definitely bring the most blessings to remind you that he is with you. God bless and thanks again for sharing.

I want to know where it says: “satan keeps transforming himself into an angel of light,” in the Bible. I cannot find this verse…

  • Luis

Kim, I agree with your comments. The Bible warns us there are over 50 million Demons on this planet (Rev. 5:11 and Rev. 12:4… you have to do a little math), and I don’t think they are vacationing in the Bahamas. I love that you pointed people to Rev. 12:11… it clearly shows how to overcome the enemy.

    • Kim

Thanks. And rev 12:10-12 also shows that satan and demons are misleading the ENTIRE inhabited earth. That would call for some major pretending to be something else by them. They are real and they are out there.

      • Luis

“satan and demons are misleading the ENTIRE inhabited earth”. I agree again… as a seventh-day Sabbath keeper, I consider Sunday as a sacred day of rest to be one of their biggest hoodwink jobs of all time on Christendom. A few years back, I looked up every verse in the Bible on the topic- i.g. saturday, sabbath, seventh day, first day, sunday… as I recall it was over 200 verses, and I could not find one in the OT or NT that says it’s been changed or abolished. Yeah, they are out there, and they hate the truth, because they know we are sanctified in obedience to the truth (John 17:17, I Peter 1:22).

        • Author Patience Prence

How did you miss this one? “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” Cold 2:16

      • Catherine Bird

Except for those whose names are written in the book of live and belong to the Lamb. Rev. 13:8

        • Kim

I suppose the best and most convenient way for satan to mislead the entire inhabited earth is by and through the endless false religion(s) he has created.

          Rev 17:5

          • Catherine Bird

Yes, and he’s done a brilliant job at deceiving a LOT of people. But, those who have a relationship with God’s Living Word (Christ) know the Truth by reading His Written Word (the Bible), which allows them to recognize lies when the see them.

Which is why the body of Christ will resist the evil one(s), and ultimately receive persecution–and sometimes even death–for believing in the Name of the Most High God.

These things must come, for they have been prophesied in God’s Word, which, due to its inerrant properties, its prophesies have always come true.

            Prepare yourself!

          • Kim

And Matthew 24:13- he that endures to the end will be saved. It’s a constant battle against this system- to endure, to stand strong, be loyal and be obedient. Like Joshua, we must read God’s word daily.

    • D

Satan can disguise as an angel of light. ANYTHING to take peoples eyes of Christ.

      Promise Keepers:

Advocacy of an unscriptural religious unity at the expense of sound doctrine and practice.

Acceptance and promotion of unscriptural Charismatic teachings.

Approval and use of psychological approaches and techniques.

Use and promotion of corrupted modern versions of the Bible.

Twisting, misapplying, and misinterpreting key Scriptures.

A program stressing the importance of evangelism while ignoring the need of a pure gospel.

A subtle and very harmful influence upon local churches which have heretofore resisted unscriptural programs and fellowships.

      • Luis

Thank you for that… I’ve wondered about those guys. I don’t doubt your synopsis one bit.

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20

I’ve learned the ways of Christ are full of wonderful peace. Anything of a sensational character immediately raises up a red flag for me. As you might know, the Bible says in four different places that ‘the just shall live by faith’. God’s people don’t need visible manifestations of the spirit world to help anchor their faith. The sweet abiding presence of Christ is enough. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Have a happy and blessed new year!

Were there any other cameras that took a shot at the same time? Why would an angel make itself visible only when taken with a camera? Wouldn’t it be a much bigger statement if everyone could see it?

More psycho-babble. That is stage lights being reflected into the lens of the camera! An “Angel” visitation???! Gimme a break! You people will excuse ANY flash of light and ANY lens flare as a “sign” from the “heavens above”

  • Author Patience Prence

I believe it was an angel. I was in church and heard someone singing behind me, I got goose bumps and when I turned to look, there was no one there.

  • Wendy

Why aren’t those “Promise Keepers” home with their families instead out with a bunch of other men?

  • Rusty Shackelford

Since there is no such thing as an angel, it would be highly improbable.

  • Nikki Ezzell

I know what I’m about to say will be made fun of and doubted by believers but it’s true and its something I reflect on in times of doubt. I believe my home was under demonic attack special my son who was three at the time. Every time I would leave his room after checking on him or putting him to bed his toys that talked would say bye. Then one night I had a dream I went to check on him like I always do and he turned his head and in a deep demonic voice said mommy I’m not your son. I prayed for an Angel to watch over him and then a few months later I went to chech on him I flipped on the light quickly and back off in that moment when the light was on I seen him standing in the middle of the room his wings were tucked down his features were perfect his hair was blond and curly. I thought I had imagined it but for one thing I would have convinced myself it was a delusion no one can imagine that kind of perfection that kind of beauty only comes from God. God bless you all.

“Over the years, I have found that most people end up believing exactly what they want to believe”
-This seems pretty ironic in its context. It takes one photo of poor quality, at an event where nobody actually saw this and nobody else happened to take a photo of it, to convince you that you have found evidence of the supernatural. You really can’t come up with a more probable explanation?

  • Natalia

My mom saw a real angel in her room. When she was crying since my grandma past away I wasn’t born yet and my grandma still young and my mom 23 she was moving due to having to sell the house she lived in with my Grandma. So this grief and loneliness and realisation of having to spend Christmas for the first time without her mom, she started crying as she looked at the emptiness of her new apartment and laid on the mattress on the floor beside all the boxes. In that moment she turned to open her eyes and saw an angel and how she described the angel was exactly how this one looks just pure light not just any light but the kind that reflects off of gold the angel had glowing long hair, glowing eyes, even nails.
My mom turned back around out if fear of what she was seeing. Then heard the angel say, ” Do not be afraid, I am here to comfort you.” And my mom turned to see her again as she said the last words then literally saw her go from this physical form that had spoken words without moving her lips, to literally fading away. And this was a picture that actually resembles whaty mom described amazing. Thank you for sharing. May God be with you always and bless the worship and praise with these angels always.

Sorry for your loss. Wishfull thinking is everyone’s delight. This was an “Contemporary Worship” and Contemporary IS a smoothing tbe edges and blurring the lines of obedience and morals. It’s a device used to grant softness of the harsh dicipline of God against sin and we all know this.
You better believe Satan was there with his own, eating up the buffet of deceived souls that are being told they can repeat sins and still be forgiveb, wiped clean, like it never happened. False warm fuzzy feelings are Satans delite.
If this were not true, why would your lyrics keep saying, “Look at me God and neighbors, I’m here praising God abd Jesus and I know all the Biblical names for them and LOOK AT ME, my hands are raised and I’m jumping up and down….ohhhh everybody notice me!”. Why would your muscians mock heavy metal performers and death metal performers? Why would songs be written so they sound similar to non christian performers?
Let’s face it, your “Contemporary Church” isn’t what it’s supposed to be. I’m not falling for it! Believe your own wishful thinking but keep in mind, there is someone bigger than all our wishful thinking and until it’s figured out, ole Satan will always be walking thru the crowd checking out his inventory.
