In fact, there was once an old television mini-series called “Amerika” which portrayed a Soviet-style takeover of this nation if I am not mistaken.

51%? That means 49% would *not* give up their liberties to defeat terrorism. This is actually a hopeful sign. In 1776 only 33% of Americans wanted independence; 33% wanted to stay with King George and another 33% were neutral. We won our independence anyway.

I suspect that a lot more Americans would prefer to keep their liberties if they were offered a better way to defeat terrorism — so let’s give it to them. The best way to defeat terrorism is to adopt the Swiss system: arm, train and inform *all* the citizens. That would put some 200 million Americans in a position to recognize and stop terrorism when they saw it. Remember that, even unarmed, it was common citizens who defeated the last two airplane bombing attempts: Richard Reid the Shoe Bomber and Unpronounceable the Crotch Bomber. Think how much more those citizens could do — and would — if they were all adequately armed and trained to watch for terrorist actions; after all, nobody knows their own neighborhoods and workplaces like the people who live and work there.

As for dealing with terrorists overseas, consider that there’s no point starting a war unless you intend to win it, and as quickly as possible. Let’s stop listening to the whinings of “World Opinion”, withdraw from the useless United Nations, tell our generals to ignore politics and concentrate on damn-well winning the war. If we fought the Arab terrorists as we fought the Axis in WWII, we would have already won by now.

I think this is just propaganda for the Govt. to make us think how they want us to think.
America needs to learn how to think for them selves other then “just throwing in the towel”. People need to look more into what they being told.

Frankly, I think those polls are rigged. I’d like more information on exactly how the questions were phrased, how they chose respondents, how many people were interviewed, the cohort of respondents etc. . We’ve seen so many fake polls of late, why would this be any different?

I really think this is more a ploy by the Rupert Murdock owned U.S. media to pretend that all Americans are throwing in the towel and saying “uncle”. If you talk to many people, they haven’t thought about how these sleazy characters of the TSA, can perve on your wives and children in a back room with the full body scanners requested to use on all passengers in many airports. Do you suppose they have thought about having to submit to this full body scan from now on because there will be no cancellation of this order? Next, they’ll scan your brain…

Well, one does have to admit that when any provisions of the Patriot Act are due to expire, there will always be a ‘false flag’ operation to frighten the public into giving up more of their freedoms for ‘protection’ from criminally terrorist acts (remember these TSA can’t catch a cold but they can harass eight year-old children, babes in arms and other innocents because their names are on a bloody list?). Look how weak this entire premise is! “You will submit because we say you will and you will just lie down and take whatever we decide to do to you in the meantime!” Okay America you asked for it! Tell me about how free you are when you bend over and spread your cheeks on general principles. George Orwell wrote your story so well in 1948 (in the book 1984)!

The “War on terror” doesn’t exist and never existed. You’re delusional if you think there are enough “radical islam[ics]” to terrorize the most expensive and mighty military on the planet. This is a total fabrication by the shadow government of the US.
Nobody wants to terrorize us, except in response to the brutal juggernaut of the US rolling over their civilians, raping and murdering evryone they could.
The United States of America no longer exists; it’s simply an enormously wealthy class of people supporting an enormously “entitled” group of useless eaters, with the “middle class” all but gone. The rest are slaves to the NWO.

For those here who comment something like ‘Stupid Americans’ need to know that everyone is the same, but the, now thin, wall of the Bill of Rights is the only difference between you and them.

polls are devices used by organizations to give credibility to an agenda.I dont trust this form of repesentation of the people at all.Who pays for these polls?Who initiates them and who runs them?Be wary people especially of an article such as this that is so leading and supposedly represents the majority of people.GOD bless.

It’s too bad that the U.S. govt. has decided to lose the war on terror from square one by not recognizing it as a war between the West and radical Islam, and begin Muslim Ideological Profiling (MIP) to screen all Muslims for signs of radicalization and set flags for heightened screening. With MIP in place, there would never have been a 9/11 or any Muslim terrorist attack on U.S. soil. What will it take?

Remember not to always believe polls. They are many variables in the selection of WHO to poll that can affect the outcome as well. I think it’s highly likey that the USA Today poll you mentioned is rigged so that people will think “Oh look, most people think it’s okay so I guess it’s okay.” Quite pathetic.
But people ARE Awakening to the deceptive, Soulless forces that have been manipulating Humanity for far too long. I firmly believe the days of the New World Order bankster elite are numbered. The Awakening is exponential, so WE MUST CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE TRUTH IN EVERY PEACEFUL WAY IMAGINABLE (BLOGS, DVD COPIES, FLYER, ETC)! EVERYBODY TAKE ACTION AND WE CAN RECLAIM OUR FUTURE!
