Why do so many Americans want us to become more like Nazi Germany? When I was growing up, I was taught that Nazi Germany was the antithesis of everything that America stood for. I truly believed that we were "the land of the free" and that we were a bright, shining example for the rest of the world. Unfortunately, over the past couple of decades America has been eagerly embracing the secret police culture of the Nazis. In a desperate attempt to feel "safe", we have decided to become much more like our arch-enemies of the past. In fact, in many ways we have already surpassed them. Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union never had facial recognition cameras, "enhanced pat-downs", automated license plate scanners, voice recognition software, mobile backscatter vans or drones in the skies. In America today, every single form of electronic communication is monitored by shadowy government intelligence agencies. All over the globe, the emerging Big Brother electronic surveillance grid becomes more pervasive with each passing day. Never in the history of the world have citizens been monitored so closely by their own governments. But is all of this surveillance actually keeping us safer? Of course not. In America today, there is an all-out attack on the values that this country was founded upon. Many of the people that are involved in these attacks actually claim to "love America" and yet they viciously attack the values and the principles that were foundational to what early Americans believed. In particular, there are two documents that were greatly cherished in early America that are being relentlessly assaulted today: the U.S. Constitution and the Bible. In colleges and universities all over America, students are being taught that these documents are "flawed" and that they need to "evolve" as society changes. Those teaching this philosophy honestly believe that modern values are far superior to the values found in those documents. They are convinced that it is foolish to be "bound" by the wisdom of the past. That is why they love to refer to the U.S. Constitution as a "living, breathing document". They believe that they should be able to "reinterpret" the Constitution without going through the hassle of the formal amendment process. And of course we have seen courts do this over and over again in recent years. The thought police are watching you. Back in the 1990s, lots of jokes were made about "political correctness", and almost everybody thought they were really funny. Unfortunately, very few people are laughing now because political correctness has become a way of life in America. If you say the "wrong thing" you could lose your job or you could rapidly end up in court. Every single day, the mainstream media bombards us with subtle messages that make it clear what is "appropriate" and what is "inappropriate", and most Americans quietly fall in line with this unwritten speech code. But just because it is not written down somewhere does not mean that it isn't real. In fact, this speech code becomes more restrictive and more suffocating with each passing year. The goal of the "thought Nazis" is to control what people say to one another, because eventually that will shape what most people think and what most people believe. The election is still more than two weeks away, and already a tremendous amount of evidence has emerged that operatives from both major political parties have been committing election fraud. There have been reports of dead people being registered to vote, of voter registration forms being tossed in the garbage, and of activists purposely helping people get registered to vote in more than one state. We have not had a presidential election this closely contested since Bush v. Gore back in 2000, so there has been a tremendous amount of concern that one side (or potentially both sides) may be tempted to cheat. Supporters of Obama and Romney have both been charged with breaking the rules before. We all remember the ACORN voting scandals from the 2008 election, and what Romney operatives did to Ron Paul in the state of Maine during primary season was absolutely criminal. The decline of the Christian faith in America is accelerating. The results of a new survey conducted by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life were just released, and the numbers are staggering. The percentage of all U.S. adults with no religious affiliation at all is nearly up to 20 percent. Even more frightening, 32 percent of all U.S. adults under the age of 30 have no religious affiliation whatsoever. Meanwhile, the percentage of the U.S. population that is Protestant has hit an all-time low. Sadly, this new survey just confirms what a whole bunch of other surveys have shown over the past few years. The truth is that America is very clearly turning away from Christianity. Right up front I will disclose that I am a Christian, so I consider this to be a very bad thing. Others that are reading this may consider the statistics below to be wonderful news.
