Has there ever been such a negative reaction to the results of a presidential election in modern American history? Yes, those that supported Barack Obama are celebrating greatly right now, but the other half of the country is really freaking out. Over the past 48 hours there has been a very powerful outpouring of emotion that has included a strange mix of mourning, anguish, frustration, grief, despair, panic and fear. Yes, the more conservative half of the country was disappointed after Bill Clinton's two victories, and they were certainly not pleased with what happened in 2008, but those were viewed as temporary setbacks. What happened on Tuesday night is being viewed as something else entirely.
