Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world’s largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth’s population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans – Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775.  You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935.  You have had 74 years to get it
right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964.  You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the
poor” and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965.  You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.  You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated.  Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our “duly elected’ (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

ANDI know what’s wrong.  We have lost our minds to “Political Correctness” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Someone please tell me what the HELL’s wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!
We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey..And now Pakistan ……..previous home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries. Sad isn’t it?

The reason Wal Mart isn’t broke is, that it wasn’t set up to go broke. We’ve had people in the government undoing this country at least since 1913.

  • sharonsj

First of all, government is not a business. Government is supposed to be watching out for the well-being of all its citizens. That fact that it’s not doing it anymore is for another discussion.

However, Walmart is run for the benefit of Walmart’s owners, not for the employees or consumers. The Walton family are multi-billionaires because they do not pay a living wage–that’s why many Walmart employees need food stamps and other assistance, which the government provides, further ensuring that the Waltons get richer. So your taxes actually help Walmart–do you really think that’s a great idea?

If you shop at Walmart, you’ll discover that the prices are no better than plenty of other stores, so nobody is getting a bargain. However, when it first starts up, they undercut prices to force out smaller stores, and then are free to charge higher prices. That’s why smaller stores go bankrupt.

As for your other assertions, they are false. For example, the Post Office is not broke. They were singled out for special legislation requiring them (and not requiring any other agency) to set up extra retirement accounts, so that redundant billions are being held in escrow. In case you haven’t realized it, our corrupt Congress is screwing over the Post Office in favor of private delivery systems because of campaign contributions. If you think the Post Office is so bad, why aren’t you spending $5 for Fed Ex to mail a letter instead of 50 cents?

The Dept of Energy, etc. Under Obama there has been much more drilling than under Bush. However, the oil companies are under no law compelling them to sell the oil in the United States. They generally ship the oil overseas and sell it to the highest bidder. In order to stop our dependence on foreign oil, Congress would have to nationalize the oil industry or spend a ton of money developing alternative energy.

I could refute more of your nonsense, but why bother? Facts mean nothing to conservatives .

I assume you are “Democrat/Liberal” @sharonsj based on your gross generalization “facts mean nothing to conservatives”. The same could be said of folks on both “sides of the aisle” @sharonsj so stop with the pontification as if you hold a monopoly on facts.

If you can refute more “nonsense” then why don’t you?? Facts mean a lot to most people. And by the way, Government is not supposed to be “watching out for everyone’s well being” – sounds very nanny state/socialist dogma to me. Government is to uphold and defend the Constitution thus giving us citizens the liberty to look out for our own well being without having the nanny state in every single affair of life. The Constitution is the main issue: if a Democrat upholds and defends it, then more power to him/her – likewise a Republican. Time to practice what you Dems like to call “tolerance” – the only people groups that politically correct farce doesn’t ever seem to apply to is Christians and Conservatives. Either apply tolerance directly across the board or not at all.

There are several problems with your “facts,” mainly that they are not facts at all. Let’s go with the easiest to verify. The post office is broke. That’s why our taxes must keep them afloat at the tune of $8 Billion every year. All you have to do is look that up in either the US Treasury, the USPS, or ask your elected official how much of your taxes went to the post office this year. The Fed Ex comment that you make fun of, isn’t there to send a letter unless you need it overnight. UPS, FED EX and others are profit making companies who do quite well without govt assistance. If the govt touches it, it goes to crap!

As for depending on alternative energy and spending a ton of money on it … you don’t follow the news at all do you? Our taxes have made friends of liberals filthy rich and yet nothing has been done to make alternative energy affordable or any closer to replacing what we have. All of your facts are left wing talking points that have not one ounce of proof. Yet I can prove every one of my statements, as I already did. It’s a shame that you spend time spreading lies and false promises of a political party. For decades the left has poured over a trillion dollars into curing the poverty problems in America and fixing the homeless issue. We are further from a fix than when we started. Why? Because the left takes the money and pockets most of it while blaming the right. They cry they are for this and for that and yet they are for themselves and nothing more. The poor stay poor and just add more to their ranks. The minorities stay minorities that are slaves to govt. For anyone reading this, look up each one of the facts YOURSELF! Don’t let anyone tell you what it is! See it for yourself so you know! Don’t be like Sharon and have a political party tell you what to think and say!

  • I have a similar version but with more examples of how our tyrannical government is no longer acting like a “Servant” to “We the People”. It is available & includes the following:
    – Voting and Election fraud.
    – Terrorist Training camps on U.S. soil.
    – illegal & tyrannical Federal Reserve.
    – water privatization.
    – Public Schools fail students and America.
    – Cash for Clunkers fails.
    – IRS fails to run Mustang Ranch at a profit.
    – Congress giving themselves raises when the national debt has increased 7,800%.

Even more importantly is EUGENICS is being practiced by our government and those whom pay them off to do so!

  • Gary2

sharonsj you are 100% correct. Thanks for calling out Michael’s conservative lies. I think he even believes his lies as he keeps repeating them. Michael–Just because you repeat the conservative lies time after time it does not make them any more true.

  • Gay Veteran

and where does Wal-Mart buy most of the garbage it sells? CHINA

  • Louise in MO

When I buy produce at Wal-Mart it comes from Missouri and Illinois and Arkansas. Meat is also local, as well as milk and eggs. Other grocery items are made and bought here in the United States. Their bakery items….ditto.

I worked for Wal-Mart for a period of time and knew before I ever signed on that they did not pay well. During that time I used my off hours looking for a better paying job and found one.

I never considered welfare and/or food stamps…I was raised to be self-sufficient.

I thik Michael is right on with this article and Gary2 is being his usual obnoxious self.

  • DownWithLibs

Great post Michael. Makes one wonder if most branches of Gov. were brought about to make the Gov. smotheringly oppressive under the guise of “helping” make things better. (I think we all know the answer to that one ;-))

    And, yes, Gary2 is obnoxious!!!!

  • JohnTheBum

Don’t forget the Dept of Education. They’ve spent hundreds of billions of dollars, yet our kids’ test scores are worse now than when the DOE was founded.
