Is Donald Trump going to run for president in 2012?  Don't laugh.  It just might happen.  Up until now the truth is that very few people would have conceived that Donald Trump could possibly be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012, but now Trump says that he is "absolutely thinking about it".

Yes, you read that correctly.

Regarding a potential run for president, on Tuesday Trump told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" the following....

"I can tell you this - for the first time in my life, I am absolutely thinking about it."

In other words, fire up the engines because Trump is ready to rumble.

Of course he is not fully committing himself yet, as he added the following caveat during the same interview....

"I don't know that I'll do it. It's probable that I won't do it. But I can tell you, I'm thinking about it."

Now Trump will probably run a bunch of polls in states with early primaries to see if his candidacy would be viable.

In fact, all of this recent speculation has been brought on by a New Hampshire poll in which voters were asked 30 questions regarding their thoughts on Donald Trump as a presidential candidate in 2012.

Trump is denying that he was involved in the poll, but he says that he is very interested in seeing what the results were.

Apparently they were quite favorable for Trump.

So would he definitely run as a Republican?

Yes.

"If I were interested, I'd be a Republican," Trump told Time during a recent interview.

So is this actually going to happen?

Well, we will see.

But for now, Trump is at least talking like a candidate....

"We are losing this country. This country will not be great if something isn't done rapidly."

Apparently there have been some people that have been urging Donald Trump to run for president for years....

"I am being serious about it. I've been asked for years to do it. And I had no interest. This is the first time I am -- at least I'm considering it."

So would Trump position himself as a mainstream Republican or a Tea Party Republican?

The answer might not be as clear cut as many would think....

"I am a Republican but have great respect for what the Tea Party has done because they have brought to light what's going on. I mean, we have trillion-dollar deficits. ... The country is going bankrupt, let's face it."

In the end, Trump is going to do what is right for Trump.  Anyone with the kind of monolithic ego and the massive resources that Donald Trump possesses is going to be tempted to make a run for the White House at some point.  There seems little doubt that Donald Trump actually believes that he is fully capable of being the president of the United States.

So really, only one question remains.

Is Donald Trump going to run for president in 2012?

We won't get that answer for a while, but it sure would be entertaining.

Today, many among America's liberal ruling class have openly declared war on the U.S. Constitution. It turns out that the U.S. Constitution just does not fit well with the radical green agenda and European-style socialism that they are trying to impose on all of us. In particular, many in America's ruling class are deeply alarmed about the rise of the Patriot and Tea Party movements in recent years. Both of these movements stress fidelity to the U.S. Constitution and to the values that our founding fathers founded this nation on. Unfortunately for America's liberal ruling class, the values of our founding fathers were completely contrary to the direction that they are trying to take us in. They tend to portray our founding fathers as racist, sexist, homophobic neanderthals who did the best they could at the time. They insist on referring to our Constitution as a "living, breathing document", which is code for saying that they feel free to alter the meaning of it any time they wish, because after all, they know better. The truth is that the U.S. Constitution stands in the way of what America's ruling class is trying to accomplish, and so now many of them have actually resorted to openly trashing it.

These days you will rarely hear any liberal speak of the founding fathers with any kind of veneration whatsoever. At best, they will make excuses for them, and at worst they will openly mock and attack them.

The most recent round of Constitution bashing began with a Constitution Day lecture by Michael Klarman of Harvard University Law School at Johns Hopkins University on September 16th. His address was entitled "A Skeptical View of Constitution Worship", and it was a scathing attack on the U.S. Constitution.

Now keep in mind that this is someone from Harvard University Law School that is making these remarks.  At Harvard University Law School many of the future Obamas, Bushes and Supreme Court Justices of the world are being educated.  In many ways, Harvard University Law School is one of the pinnacles of the U.S. education system.

So the remarks you are about to read were not made by some radical professor at some obscure university.  These remarks were made by someone deeply embedded in the establishment.

In another day and age remarks like the ones you are about to read would have caused national outrage.  Klarman would have immediately lost his job and would never be put in a position to teach others ever again.  But today the world is a much different place.

The following excerpt from Klarman's speech summarizes his four key points about "constitutional idolatry"....

I have four points I want to make today against constitutional idolatry, which is my label for our misguided tendency to blindly worship the Constitution, giving it credit for all the things we love and honor about our country.

(1) The Framers’ constitution, to a large degree, represented values we should abhor or at least reject today.

(2) There are parts of the Constitution with which we are still stuck today even though we would never freely choose them and they are impossible to defend based on contemporary values.

(3) For the most part, the Constitution is irrelevant to the current political design of our nation.

(4) The rights protections we do enjoy today, the importance of which I do not minimize, are mostly a function of political and social mores, which have dramatically evolved over time and owe relatively little to courts using the Constitution to protect them.

As you read through the rest of Klarman's speech, you can almost feel the hate that he has for the U.S. Constitution rising off the page.  You can find a full transcript of the speech right here.

A columnist writing for The Economist picked up on Klarman's remarks and published an article with this disturbing headline: "The Perils Of Constitution-Worship".  It is an open secret that The Economist has deep ties to America's liberal ruling elite and the big money interests behind them, and so it was only natural for them to jump on the bandwagon.

Right away the article in The Economist made it abundantly clear who the real targets of the article were....

At almost any tea-party meeting you can expect to see some patriot brandishing a copy of the hallowed texts and calling, with trembling voice, for a prodigal America to redeem itself by returning to its “founding principles”.

Yes, the liberal elite love to bash Tea Partiers.  They represent everything that the liberal elite believe is wrong with America.  In the article, those who support the Tea Party and believe in the U.S. Constitution are portrayed as "infantile"....

Indeed, there is something infantile in the belief of the constitution-worshippers that the complex political arguments of today can be settled by simple fidelity to a document written in the 18th century.

According to the article, when we revere the Constitution and the values that this nation was founded upon, apparently "truth is the victim"....

When history is turned into scripture and men into deities, truth is the victim. The framers were giants, visionaries and polymaths. But they were also aristocrats, creatures of their time fearful of what they considered the excessive democracy taking hold in the states in the 1780s. They did not believe that poor men, or any women, let alone slaves, should have the vote. Many of their decisions, such as giving every state two senators regardless of population, were the product not of Olympian sagacity but of grubby power-struggles and compromises—exactly the sort of backroom dealmaking, in fact, in which today’s Congress excels and which is now so much out of favour with the tea-partiers.

But the Constitution bashing was not done yet.  Just a few days ago Joshua Keating had an article entitled "Are Americans Too Constitution Obsessed?" published on the website of Foreign Policy - the official magazine of The Council on Foreign Relations.  Considering the fact that every single U.S. Secretary of State since the 1950s has been a member of the CFR, it is very disturbing that they feel free to bash the U.S. Constitution as well.  In fact, those who know the history of the CFR know that it has an absolutely enormous amount of influence over the U.S. government.

In the article, Keating makes the following statement....     

I also suspect most Americans don't realize quite how old the Constitution is by world standards.

And that is what liberals want us to think - that the U.S. Constitution is archaic, that it is outdated and that it simply does not work in the modern society that we are now living in.

But they are wrong. 

A republic can still work in 2010.

Individual freedom and liberty can still work in 2010.

Limited government can still work in 2010.

The Bill of Rights can still work in 2010.

But liberals are becoming increasingly open about the fact that they want to take all of those things away from us.  They are no longer afraid to publicly bash the U.S. Constitution. 

In fact, many of them are willing to do just about anything to impose their version of a politically correct socialist paradise on all of us.

A war on the U.S. Constitution has been declared.

Will the American people rise to defend it, or are we about to lose the Republic that our founding fathers fought and died for permanently?

The U.S. economy is dead on its feet and the majority of the American people don't even know it.  Sure, most Americans understand that things are not going well right now, but the vast majority are still convinced that we will "fully recover" at some point.  After all, we have always fully recovered and gone on to bigger and better things in the past, haven't we?  Well, unfortunately this time it is different.  The very foundations of our economic system are rotting.  Yes, unemployment numbers will go up and down and housing numbers will go up and down and inflation will go up and down, but those are not the numbers you should be paying attention to.  Instead, if you want the real truth about the U.S. economy, focus on the long-term trends that are at the root of our problems.  Every single month, the United States loses jobs and economic assets.  Every single month, more wealth flows out of the United States than flows into it.  Every single month, the United States goes into a lot more debt.  Most other economic statistics are simply symptoms of those three big problems.  The truth is that the U.S. economy is bleeding, and the truth is that very few politicians in either party are doing a thing to stop it.

We were told that "globalism" and "free trade" would be so wonderful for America.  What we were not told was that U.S. workers would now be put in direct competition for jobs with the cheapest labor in the world.  We were not told that it was intended for the standard of living in the third world to go up while the standard of living in America was intended to go down.  We were not told that millions of jobs and lots of shiny new factories would go to China while many of our once great manufacturing cities (such as Detroit) become rotted-out war zones.

China has become the second largest economy in the world and a major global superpower at our expense.  If we had not agreed to "free trade" agreements with them they would still be struggling to escape third world status.

But now they own nearly a trillion dollars of our debt.

And the next time anyone tries to tell me that free trade with communist China is something that "conservatives" should support I may just barf all over my shoes.  Almost everything about communist China should be absolutely repulsive to true conservatives, and why any conservative would support making China wealthier is a complete and total mystery.

Anyway, the sad reality is that the United States is in horrible economic shape and it is getting worse every single month.  The following are 3 points that you can use to prove the truth about the U.S. economy to anyone....

#1) Every Single Month The United States Loses Jobs And Economic Assets

Many people try to convince us that trade with China and other foreign nations is so good because it fills up our stores with really cheap goods.  But there is a huge price for those cheap goods.  The United States is losing jobs, factories and even entire industries at a staggering pace.  Our lust for cheap goods is absolutely killing us.  It is kind of like tearing your house apart to get more firewood to keep your fire going.  Sure the fire is roaring quite nicely, but eventually you will not have a house anymore. 

According to Tax Notes, between 1999 and 2008 employment at the foreign affiliates of U.S. parent companies skyrocketed 30 percent to 10.1 million. During that same time period, U.S. employment at American multinational corporations declined 8 percent to 21.1 million.

Are you starting to get the picture?

The United States is bleeding lots of jobs every single month.

But nobody seems to care until they lose their own job.

Unfortunately, things have now gotten so bad that unemployment is at epidemic levels.  According to one recent survey, 28% of all U.S. households have at least one person that is looking for a full-time job.

So is there any chance that this is going to turn around?

No, the U.S. economy is going to continue to bleed jobs.

For example, Ford Motor Company recently announced the closure of a facility that produces the Ford Ranger in St. Paul, Minnesota. Approximately 750 good paying middle class jobs are going to be lost.

So why did Ford close the plant?

Are they going to quit making Ford Rangers?

No.

Ford is going to keep producing Ford Rangers. 

They just aren't going to do it in Minnesota. 

The people of Minnesota really wanted the plant to stay open.  In fact, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty even offered Ford a multi-million dollar package of tax cuts and job creation incentives to keep the factory in Minnesota.

But Ford rejected it.

Why?

The following is an excerpt from the statement issued by Ford about the plant closing....

"Ford continues to concentrate on implementing the plan we initiated four years ago to streamline our plant operations and better leverage our global platforms. At this time, the Twin Cities Assembly Plant does not fit into our global manufacturing strategy."

Did you happen to take note of the fact that the world "global" was used twice there?

In other words, Ford plans to make Ford Rangers some place where labor is a lot cheaper.

So why is all of this bad?

Well, these jobs, these factories and these industries are economic assets.  Once they are gone, there are less jobs, there are more Americans on welfare, there is less money being spent in our local communities and there are less taxes being paid.

A health economy has a healthy manufacturing base, but every single month the United States becomes deindustrialized just a little bit more.  An economy that is losing jobs, losing factories and losing countless other economic assets every single month is a dying economy.

#2) Every Single Month The United States Is Getting Poorer

Each and every month, tens of billions more dollars leaves the United States than comes into it.  The transfer of wealth that this represents is absolutely mind blowing.

The trade deficit normally comes in at around 40 or 50 billion dollars each month these days, and that means that by the end of the year a half trillion dollars (or more) will have left the United States.

That means that as a nation we will be a half trillion dollars poorer at the end of the year.

Our gigantic trade deficit is literally bleeding the U.S. economy dry.  In the early 1990s we were assured that the WTO and NAFTA would be so good for us.  But since then the U.S. trade deficit has absolutely skyrocketed and we are hemorrhaging wealth at an astounding pace each month.

What makes things even worse is how China is taking advantage of us.  They keep their currency pegged to the U.S. dollar at a price that is about 40 percent lower than what it should be.  This enables them to flood our shores with cheap goods and it has killed entire industries in the United States. 

Today, the United States spends approximately $3.90 on Chinese goods for every $1 that the Chinese spend on goods from the United States.  They have their fangs in us and they are sucking out our wealth as hard as they can.

We end up "consuming" the massive amount of cheap goods we get from China and other nations and they end up with huge piles of our cash.  This is what has enabled China to accumulate nearly a trillion dollars of our debt.

But in the end, the borrower always ends up the servant of the lender.  We have made China rich and now they have been lending that money back to us at a dizzying pace.

How incredibly stupid can we get?

When wealth flows out of the United States, that means there is less of a pie for those of us who are Americans to divide up. 

Most Americans simply do not grasp this incredibly important concept.

At the end of this month, America will be poorer than when the month began.

At the end of the following month, America will be even poorer than that.

We are constantly getting poorer.  Imagine a giant wallet with 100 bucks in it.  If you keep taking 5 dollars more out of the wallet each month than you put into it, you are eventually going to have an empty wallet.

That is what is happening to America.  We are buying far, far more from the rest of the world than they are buying from us each month.  If we do not stop doing this, eventually we are going to be broke.

#3) Every Single Month The United States Goes Into Even More Debt

Americans like to think of themselves as "the richest nation in the world", but the truth is that we have accumulated the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world.

Today, the U.S. government has piled up a national debt that is fast approaching 14 trillion dollars.  It is increasing by over 4 billion dollars per day.

Democrat Erskine Bowles, one of the heads of Barack Obama's national debt commission, claims that the U.S. government will be spending 2 trillion dollars just on interest on the national debt by the year 2020 if nothing changes.

Can you imagine that?

A trillion $10 bills, if they were taped end to end, would wrap around the globe more than 380 times.  That amount of money would still not be enough to pay off the U.S. national debt.

Meanwhile, our state and local governments have accumulated absolutely staggering amounts of debt.

Illinois is bankrupt.  California is very close.  Hordes of city and local governments are on the verge of default. 

So what happens if the economy gets even worse?

But it is not just government debt that is the problem.  The total amount of consumer debt that American consumers now owe stands at a total of approximately 11 trillion dollars.

As a society, we have been absolutely addicted to debt.  It has fueled the greatest party that the world has ever seen, but now the party is ending and we are drowning in debt.

In fact, if you total up all government, business and consumer debt, it is approximately equivalent to 360 percent of GDP.  At no point during the Great Depression did we ever even come close to approaching such a level.

So what can we conclude from all this?

Well, on a personal level if your bank account got smaller every single month and you went into a lot more debt every single month you would soon find yourself in a complete and total mess.

On a national level, that is the situation that America is now in.  We are bleeding economic assets, we are bleeding wealth and we are getting into stunning amounts of new debt every single month.

Many of the things that Americans have been able to take for granted for decades are rapidly coming to an end.  The truth is that a growing economy that produces an ever-increasing amount of good jobs for a thriving middle class is not guaranteed to last forever.  In fact, there are lots of signs that the middle class in America is already being ripped to shreds.  The number of Americans on long-term unemployment benefits is exploding, personal bankruptcies are setting new records, foreclosures are at an all-time high and one out of every eight Americans is now on food stamps.  Meanwhile, the U.S. government is absolutely drowning in debt and America is facing a pension crisis that is so immense that it is almost indescribable.  Most Americans still assume that even if we do have hard times for a while things will always turn around and eventually get better than ever.  But sadly, that is just not the case.  The truth is that the United States is in the early stages of a devastating economic collapse, and the "new normal" is going to be incredibly difficult for a lot of Americans to adjust to. 

The New Normal: Millions Of Chronically Unemployed Americans And Not Nearly Enough Jobs For Everyone

*According to one recent survey, 28% of U.S. households have at least one member that is looking for a full-time job.

*A recent Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 81 percent of American adults know someone who is looking for a job.

*Despite the fact that the U.S. population has exploded, less Americans are employed in manufacturing today than in 1950.

*Today it takes the average unemployed American over 8 months to find a job.

*The number of Americans receiving long-term unemployment benefits has risen over 60 percent in just the past year.

*Since 2007, unemployment has spread across American like a plague....

The New Normal: Americans Going Broke In Staggering Numbers

*Nationwide, bankruptcy filings rose 20 percent in the 12 month period ending June 30th.

*There were 422,061 bankruptcy filings between April and June of this year.  That was an increase of 9 percent from 388,148 in the prior three-month period, and was up 11 percent from 381,073 a year earlier.

The New Normal: A Dead Housing Market And Millions Of Americans Losing Their Homes

*During the month of May sales of new homes in the U.S. declined to the lowest level ever recorded.

*The Mortgage Bankers Association recently announced that demand for loans to purchase U.S. homes has sunk to a 13-year low.

*Construction of new homes in the U.S. and applications to build new homes in the U.S. both fell to their lowest levels in more than a year during the month of July.

*One out of every seven mortgages were either delinquent or in foreclosure during the first quarter of 2010.

*According to RealtyTrac, a total of 1.65 million U.S. properties received foreclosure filings during the first half of 2010.

*U.S. Banks repossessed 269,962 U.S. homes during the second quarter of 2010, which was a new all-time record.

The New Normal: Tens Of Millions Of Americans Living In Poverty And Dependent On The Government For Food

*The U.S. poverty rate is the third worst among the developed nations tracked by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

*Approximately 50 million Americans could not afford to buy enough food to stay healthy at some point during the last year.

*The number of Americans who are receiving food stamps rose to a new all-time record of 40.8 million in May.

*The number of Americans on food stamps has set a new all-time record for 18 consecutive months.

The New Normal: A Pension Crisis And A Social Security Nightmare That Will Fundamentally Change What Retirement Means In America

*3 out of every 5 Baby Boomers do not have enough money saved for retirement.

*Unfunded pension benefit liabilities at the state government level - the amount state governments owe in promised retirement benefits beyond what they have collected - exceed $3 trillion.

*In 1950, each retiree's Social Security benefit was paid for by 16 U.S. workers.  In 2010, each retiree's Social Security benefit is paid for by approximately 3.3 U.S. workers.  By 2025, it is projected that there will be approximately two U.S. workers for each retiree.

*According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Social Security system will pay out more in benefits than it receives in payroll taxes in 2010.  That was not supposed to happen until at least 2016.

*The present value of projected scheduled benefits surpasses earmarked revenues for entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare by approximately 46 trillion dollars over the next 75 years.

The New Normal: The U.S. Government Absolutely Drowning In Debt

*If you started spending one million dollars every single day when Jesus was born, you still would not have spent one trillion dollars by now.

*The U.S. government has accumulated a national debt that is rapidly approaching the 14 trillion dollar mark.

*The IMF says that in order to fix the U.S. government budget deficit, taxes need to be doubled on every single U.S. citizen.

*The U.S. government will spend an amount of money equivalent to approximately 25.4 percent of GDP this year.

*If the U.S. government does not change course, it will be paying 2 trillion dollars just in interest on the national debt by the year 2020.

The 13-story, $100 million Islamic mosque that is slated to be built just two blocks from ground zero in New York City has been making a ton of national headlines over the past week, but the truth is that this is far from an isolated incident.  Islam is rapidly growing and is gaining tremendous influence inside the United States.  50 years ago, there were very few mosques inside the United States and Muslims were a very, very small minority.  But today all of that has changed.  Even as Christianity is losing millions of adherents in the United States, Islam is experiencing explosive growth.  The Council on American-Islamic Relations says that there are 7 million Muslims inside the United States in 2010, and huge new mosques are going up from coast to coast.  Each year, increasingly large numbers of Muslims immigrate to the United States both legally and illegally.  But Islam is not just growing through immigration.  All across America, substantial numbers of Americans are converting to Islam each year, and this is particularly true in U.S. prisons where radical Islam has found a ready-made pool of disaffected young men to exploit.  The danger signs are there.  Are we going to start paying attention to them?

The following are 12 signs that show the tremendous progress that radical Islam is making in America in 2010.... 

1 - According to Ihsan Bagby, a professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Kentucky, there were only approximately 1,200 mosques in the United States ten years ago.  Today there are approximately 1,900.

2 - An rapidly increasing number of U.S. public schools are actually adjusting their school calendars for the observance of Islamic holidays.

3 - Less than 100 feet from where it is said a plane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, Muslim military personnel bring prayer rugs and gather for group worship on weekday afternoons.

4 - Muslims now constitute approximately 10 percent of the total number of students in the New York City School District.

5 - A survey of Muslim Americans by the Pew Research Center in 2007 found that 39 percent of adult Muslims living inside the United States were immigrants that had arrived in the U.S. since 1990.

6 - In Dearborn, Michigan one high school football team has so many Muslim players that it has moved its two-a-day summer practice schedule to between 11 PM and 4 AM during Ramadan.  This was done so that the Muslim members of the team would not be forced to practice in the heat without drinking water.

7 - In the state of Maryland, Anne Arundel County recently decided to ban sporting events on the night before Islamic holidays.  They have also placed a ban on administering tests on the dates of Islamic holidays as well.

8 - In March, the opening prayer at the opening session of the Virginia General Assembly was delivered by a radical imam.

9 - Often funded with millions of dollars from overseas, a rapidly growing number of "mega-mosques" are being constructed in communities from coast to coast.

10 - Electronics retailer Best Buy now runs national ads which wish their customers a "Happy Eid al-Adha".

11 - At least one researcher claims that Muslim inmates now comprise 17-20% of the total U.S. prison population.

12 - Even the current occupant of the White House, Barack Obama, goes out of his way to say nice things about Islam.  Just consider the following list of glowing statements that Barack Obama has made about Islam that we documented in a recent article....

#1 "Islam has always been part of America"

#2 "we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities"

#3 "These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings."

#4 "America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."

#5 "So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed"

#6 "Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality"

#7 "As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith."

#8 "I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month."

#9 "That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

#10 "I also know that Islam has always been a part of America's story."

Meanwhile, Christians that attempt to express their faith and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Muslims are increasingly being arrested and thrown in jail.  Just consider the following examples....

*Four Christians face fines of up to $500 each and up to 93 days in jail for sharing the gospel with Muslims on a public sidewalk outside of an Islamic street festival in Dearborn, Michigan.

*Two other Christians were arrested recently for sharing the gospel and singing hymns on a public sidewalk outside an Islamic mosque in the city of Philadelphia.

These Christians were simply exercising their free speech on a public sidewalk and they got thrown into prison for it.

It turns out that in America in 2010 it is much more important to protect Muslims from being offended than it is to allow Christians to exercise their constitutional rights.

The truth is that the spread of Islam inside the United States is not harmless.  In fact, radical Islamic groups are setting up training compounds from coast to coast and federal authorities don't seem to be doing anything about it.

For example, a video released by the Christian Action Network shows members of the "Muslims Of America" participating in paramilitary style training outside of their compound in upstate New York, near the town of Hancock.

The "Muslims of America" is the name that an organization known as Jamaat ul-Fuqra uses inside the United States. They are a militant jihadist organization based in Pakistan.
